My birthday was Tuesday, so we go to the casino on Wednesday. I get in line to play at the pot limit Hold 'Em table, but there's a pretty good wait, so I go play some other games til they have room. I lose around $50 at other games, but then they call me to the poker room.
I sit down, nobody thinks I'll be any good, naturally, so I win a few hands, I'm up around a hundred. I'm the first hand from the blind, I get dealt pocket aces, but I can't bet because everybody would fold, right?? I call the big blind, and so does everyone around the table (which was awesome, because it's already on the way to being a big pot, right?). The flop comes something like 2, 5, 7, so nothing can hurt me, so I check, and the person after me bets, which is golden, because I still highly doubt anyone had a pocket pair, so everybody stays again. An ace comes on the turn, at this point, my hand's unbeatable, so I check, let the person behind me bet, let everybody call, and when it gets back around, I raise, and everybody except one or two people call. So, at this point, the pot's already huge. A 2 comes on the river, making 2, 5, 7, ace, 2 on the board. Full house, the only thing that could beat me is pocket 2s, which no one would have stayed through all that betting with pocket 2s, and the odds against four 2s are about a milion-to-one or more anyways. So I bet, and only another one or two people fold, someone raises around because they have ace 5 or something, which made the pot even bigger, $3 or $400 or more.
I turn over my aces, and start reaching for the pot because my hand's unbeatable right?? This dude across from me turns over pocket 2s, so he had four 2s, and beats me.
If my two 2s had been tens or better, I would have won $42,000 in the bad beat deal. I end up leaving up a few hundred anyways, but $42000 was in my hands.

I gambled some in Charleston but there were no tables or anything, just slots. Kind of boring but I won some money and it was an experience.

Why would nobody think you weren't good, naturally?

The world's a cruel, superficial place: they see a person in a wheelchair who can't talk, they think "Oh, he won't know what he's doing, this will be an easy beat," and a lot of people look at me and don't even see a person, which I just laugh at and find amusement in just taking their money. Don't get me wrong, I'm not great or anything, but I'm not bad or stupid by any means.
But I appreciate the mocking of my post, naturally.

Just wondering. I guess some people can be like that but usually I don't think someone is stupid just because they can't walk. Take my question anyway you please but I just didn't understand what you meant by that.

My mistake. I can't talk much, either. That also has an effect on people's low expectations on my level of intelligence. I use this to talk (sorry if you already knew that), and they see that, along with the wheelchair, as weakness.
I guess I find it funny because they see my physical problems as a reflection of my mind's ability.
Such is life, their loss.

I didn't know that you used that. I can see why people thought that but that is their problem. Good thing you can handle it so well though.

You're hand wasn't unbeatable after the Turn anyway. Once the ace hit on the turn a straight was possible which kills your trips.
You only beat the possible straight when the Full House hit.
Anyway, pot limit Hold Em, especially low limit is dummy poker. It's essentially stay with any hand and see what comes up. You had a great hand, yes, but as far as pushing people out, it's almost impossible playing anything low limit.

He had a great time, he had a good hand and almost won $42,000 soooo point being, it was crazy. I'm glad he shared. I wouldn't care if he pushed all in with a 3 7 off suit, the point was he almost won the money and that's more than any of us can say.

Alright, so it was unlikely that anyone would be able to beat it, and that's irrelevant to me almost winning $42,000.

Ouch! ...but just like 98 said when your playin PL is jus impossible to push anyone but anyways thats a bad beat imo he limped in with the p2's and got lucky i guess.

I wasn't trying to push anyone around though, and the fact that I got beat by a rare hand and almost won $42,000 was what I was pointing out, he found it necessary to get all technical about irrelevant facts to the topic.

Exactly. That's why I said what I did.
