I guess this location will do. I think they should play as many as they can unless they're just a lock to go straight to the NBA or something. Enjoy your high school years and have as much fun as you can.

I think that playing other sports helps keep them in shape. Especially in high school, kids won't concentrate on the sport during the off-season, so it helps them stay in shape when the season comes back around,

If the athletes did not play multiple sports at the smaller schools there would be some of the programs in really bad shape. If I had a player and they were interested in playing two, three or even four sports I would encourage them to do so if their grades were high enough. I don't coach however and maybe these decisions would be different if I did coach but I don't think so.

Playing sports is part of the high school experience. A student should be able to play all of they games that he/she enjoys to play. If this mean playing 1 or 4 sprots in the course of a year then more power to them. They only get to live these 4 years once so why not enjoy it and have a blast? 99% of High school athletes will not play after they graduate so why miss oppertunities?
The only time that I would think that one sport is a good idea is if this player is just unreal at that sport and knows that he will play in college and possibily pro. But other than that, have fun in school and don't get burnt out on one thing.
That answer it?

Let 'em play how ever many sports they want. The athlete may have a sport that they love and are great at and may have another sport that they play just for fun. These are the high school days and enjoy yourself. As long as they keep their grades up and keep the love of the game. I say go for it!
