Should CBS fire Billy Packer for using a derogatory term on air?
#1
Could this be a dream come true for Cat fans? Billy Packer is under heat for using the word "fag" on air during an interview. I say CBS should fire him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
#2
This is the first I've heard of this, what exactly did he say?
#3
Just saw it on ESPN Cold Pizza and he was being interviewed, not sure who the man was interviewing him, but apparantly he and had made some plans go somewhere with Packer and didnt end up going. Packer told him during the interview he had "fagged out on him". I say fire him, this would be almost better news for Cat fans than hiring Billy D.
#4
I don't think he should be fired. And I'm sure he is embarresed.
#5
Yeah I just seen it on EPSN NEWS. I would fire him anyways just because I dont like him.

The way Packer used the word was not derogatory. But he has completely lost it as an announcer.
#10
Look up the definition of the word. He used it properly.
#11
Who cares if he used it correctly, CBS should fire him!!!!!!!!!!!!
#12
Fire Packer and let Clark Kellogg be the main color commentator for CBS.
#13
Fire him for being a friggin' idiot.

"Fagging out" means to get tired and go to sleep.
"Fagging off" is something completely different.

This a use of the word that rarely is used any more.
Lust like 50 years ago being Gay was just being Happy.
The British still call cigarettes fags.
#15
I'm aware of the meanings... I just think he's an idiot for other statements he makes.
#16
I hope that they fire Packer! hate listening to him more than anyone else in the history of television!
#17
I don't hate him but I would like to bash him in the mouth just 1 time.
#18
Exhibit A: What is Magloire doing?!?
#20
I dont like packer but i dont think he should be fired for using the comment, just because i dont like him he should be fired!!!!
#21
fagged: To become tired from hard work. (Webster's Dictionary & Thesaurus For Home, School, And Office, 2005).

He was saying he was tired but he didn't mean to use that as an excuse. He used the word properly in it's context.

I never understand why these type of things become such big stories...

I dont like Billy Packer, but for gods sake, he said "fagged out"... what he said doesn't have anything to do with someone's sexuality...

I love how people want to be the "moral authority" on everything....
#23
well, Packer being the arrogant bastard he is, SHOULD give those "offended" people a word association lesson..I dont like him either, but if I was asked to apologize for nothing, Id tell those "offended" to f-off..its pathetic.
#24
I bet Rosie is really upset with that statement Packer made.....lol

He did. He said he has used the word many times before and will continue to do so.
#26
fire his ass because stats said so and that is the bottom line throw him a beer.
#27
I dont like the man either, actually I hate him. He says some of the dumbest stuff I have ever heard, and he is a UK hater, anyone who has ever listened to him knows that. But he did not use the word out of context. What the hell would be the big deal if he did use it out of context, if he feels that way then so be it. I hate when people say things and then apologize for it or are made to apologize for it. Like Tim Hardaway talking about John Amaechi, I could care less what he said, it was his feelings and opinion, he shouldnt be made to apologize. If I say something I believe in, im not apologizing to anyone, they and anyone else that dont like can kiss my ass. Stick to your guns Billy P., dont apologize for shit, and if u get fired, sue the shit out of CBS.
#28
I say PLEASE fire him.
#29
I'm so fagged out.

#30
show him the door.
