Uncle Bob Wrote:Question....anybody......Where was Conley at in the second half ?
You and everyone else were thinking the same thing. Conley came in in the 1st quarter to give them some momentum - not to mention scoring 7 points and going 3/3. Guess that wasn't good enough..............oh wait a minute it was good enough to be sub of the game out of both of the teams. Also, Conley does not let players push him around like some other Buchanan player - but thats a whole other thing on its own!!!!! But what should we expect - Conley did not get to showcase his talent any this year - bottom line was he is too good and no one can outshine the Stepps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

windmill Wrote:ok, so JBS is the worst team in the region? wow, I didnt know that, so Wolfe County, or Riverside should have went to state and represented the 14th instead of JBS? I mean, JBS had a 9 point lead with around 3-4 minutes to go in the 1st half, and Warren Central, who did win state in 2004, and came runner up in 2005, made a big 11-3 run, and it didnt stop after half time. Warren Central is 30-5, and they were up on JBS by 1 point at halftime. Warren Central was on a 19 game winning streak until they got beat in the final 4, by the runner up Ballard. If JBS kept playing like they did in the first half, this game would have been a whole lot closer, and they maybe could have even won the game. They held Anderson, who is going to Air Force, to under 5 points, has any team done that to him this year? or even last year? he averages around 17 points a game, and he is one of the best, if not the best shooters in the state, but I guess Wolfe County or someone else could have gone down there and done better, im sure they would have, every team in the region would have trouble with Warren Central, every single team in the state would have trouble with them.JBS played an awesome, and i would appreciate it if people would stop whinning on here, they won the region and they played a heck of a game at state, if only some of the ignorant people on here wathced the game in person, im not sayin all of a sudden i like JBS, but they played their best game of the year. I will still be a dawg fan, but they were not the worst team out of the 14th, i still may not agree with their region finals victory, but wots done is done, and they represented the 14th well. Congrats to JBS and good luck for next year.

He had 7 points and only played a few minutes. I thought his wide body presence was helpful while he was in the game WC was more physical and conley was not pushed around. He had a great last game for no longer than he played.
Should have played more the whole year.

He really gave a lift against WC. I think he should have gotten alot more minutes.

He hit 2 shots all night, but stayed in the game playing shooting guard.. Believe me , when Clark Stepp makes statements like he made, they are his and his alone. None of the other players would even think that way. I think they could have played a closer game if the coaches had been ready for the third quarter.

Thougth # 4 for JBS took some shots that LArry Bird couldnt hit. Falling down 30 footers, why would he be allowed to fire up those bricks over and over?

If #4 had been playing for another team , he would have been benched. However since his uncle is the coach he is allowed to stay in the game and throw up those shots. It looks bad on the coaching staff, however they don't see it this way. They think since he hits a few its worth it. It takes away shots from better percentage shooters and hurts the team more than it helps.

A big congrats to Collins. The 6'9" center really played hard for JBS and made a difference. I don't think JBS ever ran a play to get him the ball. What a joke. The coaching staff at JBS really is to blame. Its like having a full house in poker but playing a pair. I really think there is a huge ethical problem here that needs to be addressed.

The Private Wrote:Stepp and Cox best set of guards in the mts!!!!!!!!!!!!!They didn't play them as point guard and 2 guard like they did the year before. They played Clint Stepp in the 2 guard position and moved Cox to 3 guard. That made Cox third option. Bad decision. If Clint is hitting he can do some damage to the other team. If he is not hitting he can do some damage to his own team. " He does not do defence."
