Also includes sweet 16 power ratings, as well as HS basketball repots from across the state.

I find it interesting how the Lexington media is treating JBS as that "small town" program considering how folks in the mountains perceive the program.

It seems like any school from this area gets perceived that way.

Does Mike Fields have a clue? How much are his pockets getting lined for these articles and doing a write up of every game they played this year?

I honestly have NO CLUE what everyones beef is with JBS. NONE. Please fill in corndog. My only knowledge of the situation is head coach Gary Stepp. He was my 7th grade Math teacher at Inez, and I absolutely LOVED the man. Great guy IMO. Why all the hate?

When did we stop rooting for the mountain teams? I realize we all may not agree with the way some things are done or disagree with a coach or school. But, heck let's get behind whoever we send to Lexington, Bowling Green or Richmond and start cheering these kids on because if we start a habit of that hopefully it will be returned in the future. Some people are really missing the point when it comes to publicity. We need all the good words we can get around here and instead many people on this board and in other places are dissecting every word and knocking down the positive. Sorry for the ramble.

Good to see a positive ramble for once about JBS.
That's why I find it interesting how the Lexington media is treating this story and how some fans here in the mountains perceive this team and school. JBS was never a threat to folks here in the hills as long as they were your homecoming game. Now they have started winning and defeating traditional powers and lets face it, that's the problem for most people on this board that don't like JBS. It's pitiful.
I'd hate for the outside media to do a story on how some select mountain basketball fans feel about JBS and their success because it would set us back 15 years. JMO.

What is the truth? Clark is suppose to be fr. in college not a jr. in high schools. Tate is suppose to be a JR. in high school not a fr. He will be a 17 year old soph. Clark will be 20 years old his fr. year of college. They have held back just about every kid in a "academic school. Tried there best to get more kids out of other school districts. NO tution at JBS if you can play ball. Put the Stepp brothers as the center of the universe and made other players be role players. Every kid in a public schools are rednecks, holler rats, and jail inmates. They have the mentallity that they are better than everyone else, in life.

Listen, EVERY SINGLE SCHOOL IN EASTERN KENTUCKY HOLDS KIDS BACK IN MIDDLE SCHOOL. It's the God's honest truth Benchwarmer. Almost the entire Martin County Middle School football team should have been freshman in high school. It happens. The ONLY reason you are upset is that JBS is experiencing some sort of success. GET OVER IT. Cheer them on, these kids are from OUR area, and we are truly doing them, and our culture, an injustice by cheering against them simply because they win.

Anytime a door mat rises up a slaps the taste of a championship out of the powers that be mouth, they seem to get bitter. Ask the 16th region about Rose Hill. You saw the same response. I pull for any Mountain team, I could care less.

How many of the other schools claim to fame is being a academic school? That is my whole point about it. I dont think they can say they are a academic school first and a basketball school second anymore if they are doing the same things the basketball schools are doing.

And, I recall Rose Hill getting slaped by the KHSAA for doing things the wrong way. Just like University Heights.

Being a JBS alum I don"t understand why everyone wants to spread these rumors. The faculty and staff, coaches included, are not breaking the rules in anyway. Yes, some students get scholarships, but they have a good GPA also. If they fall below certain GPA or get a certain grade at the end of the week, they sit out a couple days until they grade is brought up. Someone please tell me what all this "bs" is suppose to be??????

I have never said anything negative about JBS. That being said, what kind of Private School is June Buchanan anyway? Is it a Christian School like Rose Hill? A Catholic School? A Prep School? And why do people give JBS a hard time on this board?
I want some honest, serious answers for a change.
