I'm gonna give them 08-09 to get to know each other and then this team can be tough to handle.Harlan County has a good group of freshman and sophmores this year, but I think the freshman are better and this year's 8th grade class has a couple players that can contribute by this time. That would make this year's freshman seniors then and the 8th graders juniors and if all these kids keep playing and improving will be very good. What does everyone else think?

I don't know what kind of team they will have, but I saw the construction site of their school on US 119 last fall and it's gonna be huge. And I love the mascot, "Black Bears", very appropriate. I know folks in Cumberland, Cawood and Evarts aren't all happy about the consoldation, but hopefully they will come together as a county. Consolidation seems to be the way things are gonna be, for all of us like it or not.

My father was told by a Cumberland High School teacher soon to be Harlan County teacher that their school system has ran out of money to finish financing the school. They told him that IF the school is even constructed, it would be far down the road because of funding, or lack there of. Has anybody heard anything else about this?

they have no money right know I will be on this team and I'm not to happy cumberlandredskins23 seems to have no problem because he must not have pride in his school well I do I've been coached by his dad to tell me to hate the opposing team and these rivals for over many many decades arent just going to go away they will be problems especially on the ball court they have different styles all of them some are jus good for 3's and others are jus presences down low or on the perimeter but they will be at least 10 deep if the freshman now are the seniors then heres the team i think.
Brandon McCown-Probaly done with growing but at 6'4 can knock a 3 and block a fast break.
TJ Green - at 6'0 has been held back a couple times is done probaly growning wise but his strength is unimaginable. He can be a point guard
Micheal Moses - went up almost 5 inches since last yr may be done but he could grow more not strong enoug hto be a forward so he'll be a guard too.
Tyrek Simmons - Hes extremely quick but his ball handling is dazziling but he'll turn it over has a nice shot but can be injuy prown.
Kyle Hogue - can do a little all but down at Cumberland he's a ball hog and thinks hes a superstar and has had some teamates mad st him before so hes not a superstar on this upcoming roster so he needs to become a team player and has already turned into 1 when him and the next kid hooked up with him dishin down low.
Scotty Sepe- He's big everywhere 6'3 230 sum is not the fastest player for sure lol but is quick off his feet can hit all around the goal nice touch and then hes dead eye at freethrow line...im sure he'll work on his 3 this summer and getting better in shape i think at his size done pretty good in his first fast pace season....if he adds to his game watch out for him 2 be a PF/C to start on this team its up to him.
Blayne Rutherford- can anyone say Patrick Sparks he can shoot lights out...........but if he goes in a dry spell it takes a few shots but when hes hittin the givin is good t about 5'7 may not grow but needs to improve rest of game.....maybe him and fellow alumni Sepe can help each other out Sepe needs to get the 3 down and Rutherford can do it and then Sepe can condition with him lol
These are the big name freshman that you hear most about but theyre is others from both schools I think maybe one of these might grow in front of our eyes in size and game and thats because hes played fewer than the rest of these guys but hes already showin improvement and if he gets better he'll be a big key for HCHS most of these are hold backs cept a couple but if they can work together i think they will be one hell of a force

Simmons and Green appear to be the most athletic and both have speed. They also can shoot real well.If Green doesn't quit basketball to stick with football he'll be a nice 2 or 3.Simmons is gonna be a fun PG to watch.

i kno but he is 16 goin on 17 i kno hes strong but cumberlandredskins23 if somethin goes down with his personal status idk what hed b like then

First off, Sepe may be 6'1 at best.......and with Wilson becoming eligible this fall, He will have a hard time seeing any minutes what so ever. And with the comment on Hogue, he shows more hustle than n e one on the court, and Id take him n e day. Finally, Rutherfords father might be a whopping 5'8 at best and Sepes father might be 5'11. I dont know where your getting your facts but there way off base.
