Great game. Not at all like watching highschool ball.
#3
OJ Mayo - 41 points, 10 rebounds, 11 assist.
Patterson - 14 points, 13 rebounds, 7 blocks.

No team in AAA basketball has ever won 3 consecutive titles in WVA.

I agree.

I'm a bit behind. I just finished watching the game and was wondering how you knew the score before it was over.

That was a nice dunk at the end of the game by Mayo. you wont find many high school players do that in a game

Does anyone know where I could find the dunk in which he did at the end of the game where he threw it off of the backboard then threw the ball in the crowd? Heard it was JAWDROPPING!!!!!

Congrats to HHS, not very shocked of the outcome. I would like to see the dunk as well? Probably will find it on youtube pretty soon.

CHARLESTON — O.J. Mayo threw the ball underhanded off the backboard from the free-throw line with the clock running down, caught the ball in the air and dunked in the same motion, sending a near-sellout crowd into a frenzy.

It was an appropriate send-off for Mayo and for Huntington High.

"It's our last high school game of our career," Mayo said. "We wanted to leave with a show and an exclamation mark that we're the greatest team to ever come out of West Virginia. It's an honor."

Mayo had 41 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists as the Highlanders beat South Charleston 103-61 Saturday night for its unprecedented third straight Class AAA championship

Couldnt really see him throw off th e back board that well but you could see him catch it and dunk it. Then throw it into the crowd.

To show how deep they go, even their #6 man is going to U of OK. Surprised to see Scott Co. ranked above them at maxpreps. HH gets all the national press(Scott Co. doesn't) probably because of Mayo and Patterson.

First I was at the tournament and talked with Huntington quiet a bit. As far as Early going to Oklahoma is decieving as he is the third best player on the team and is right up their with the two studs. But their coach is a nut and dont like him and dont play him like he should and that is sad. Early had some nasty dunks in the tourney, not as good in the championship but the other 2 games were great for him.

Yea, I was just relaying what the TV station called him (#6). That's the first and only game I ever watched of them. I regret it now, I would have driven the hour and half to their gym to watch them if I would have known it was that fun to watch them.

I love WV state tournament and that was best one yet, they were so fun to watch, and the championship game had less dunks than the other two games lol. And Patterson has a beautiful touch on the ball.

If patterson would have played somewhere else, he would be an allstar, but mayo just shoots the ball so much, and patterson just gets to get rebounds and put them back in. Mayo trys to get nba's eye, leaving patterson with a much harder task at getting seen in the national spotlight.

Dang

that is really outstanding

Patterson and Mayo both looked like they had great games
