Look at Mayo from HH in WV, he looks like he's early 20's.

i've watched the ky cats and the Valley cats. The Valley cats are a lot funner to watch. If their at their best, they can play with a lot of the high school teams in the state. At their run and pass, fast and hard deffence game, they may upset some teams.Hatfeilds a tall kid don't git in foul trouble so early.J bryant attic the coals harder.L bryant no silly fouls.T Newsom stay on the boards.Justices keep it up.Jackson don't be afraid of the 3s.If he's got that second take the shoot. These cats has scratched their way to a great year. The best Valleys seen in a few years,if not ever seen.

Good luck to Valley!

Ive seen elliott play twice this year, and they have been good outside the perimeter. I dont kno how big or good at rebounding shelby valley is, but if they are good inside the lane at grabbing rebounds, they can control the boards. Ashlands McDavid got 16 rebounds against elliott last week, but he is a pretty strong player. If valley can somehow limit 2nd chances and limit turnovers due to elliotts defense, they can win. If elliott gets hott, gets some extra looks, then it could be a win for elliott. IMO, valley will win by 6.

Can't make a prediction (don't know enough about EC), but I hope Valley wins in a good game!

GO CATS!

16th region is much better than the 15th. Elliott by 9.
#47
Valley wins
#48
Elliott County should come out on top. Better team, more talent, tougher region play.
#49
Some of Valleys boys have played AAU against some of Elliots boys. They know each other pretty well. I'll take Valley.
#50
SV by 6...Good luck from your 14th region fans.

I would say that also , Looks good EC:Clap:

In the 15th region tourney, Valley didn't shoot all that well, but were able to create some turnovers with their defensive pressure. Again, don't know much about EC, but I would guess that if they take care of the ball well, SV may be in some trouble. However, if SV can turn EC over then it likely will be a different ending.

I heard almost just the opposite ! EC beat them by 35, not really sure though just what I heard.
#55
I also heard or actually was told by a friend of mine that Maynard from Elliott Co & Hatfield from SV are cousins ! Anyone know anything about this for sure?
#56
This game should be a dandy to say the least. I have watched both these teams play this year and they both are pretty talented. Elliot Co. is very dangerous from outside the perimeter. Especially the Ferguson kid. He is lights out if he gets open. The Faulkner twins are pretty good as well. However, I believe that Shelby Valley has a very tough defense and as long as they get out on them and pressure the ball then I believe Shelby Valley will win. Valley by 7+

I follow Shelby Valley quite closely, and I think I would have heard if they had beat Elliott County by 30 or lost by 35 either one.
#58
Mike Fields of the Lexington Herald-Leader says that the game between SV and EC might be the youngest matchup in state tournament history, considering the ages of the players involved from both teams.

I found that interesting.

Valley starts 3 freshman, 1 sophomore and 1 junior. Elliott starts 5 sophomores and their top reserve is an 8th grader.
#59
Should be an exciting game Good Luck SV
#60
I can't see either of these teams blowing the other out by 30...
