Haley you have been the heart and soul of this Lady Hawk program since your middle school days. You just played your last 15th Region game in a Pike Central jersey and it couldn't have ended in a better way. Haley Ratliff and the Pike County Central Lady Hawks are 15th Region Champions. We will miss you Haley. Go Get Em At State.

The "Kid" has bee the "face" of our region since leading Pike Central to her first championship during her Freshman year. After losing a tough opening round game to East Carter in state.
Ratliff came back and lead the Hawks to another regional Championship game in which the experience of Betsy Layne defeated the Hawks in the finals...Which imo, was a time in her career that she was content on taking that outside shot...
Last season, under a new coach and new way of doing things Haley again was playing in a regional championship game. What a night that was in the "Expo". Pike Central fought "tooth and nail" against a more focused and quicker Magoffin County team. Ratliff, tried to will her team to another championship yet, Ashley J., Manns, and M. Howard were just to much. Ratliff's driving plays and rebounds were plays that ones that Ratliff was the only player on the court to make such plays!!!!!!!!!!
This season Ratliff became a leader on a team that imo is the best P.C. team. Her Performance tonight in the finals one witnessed the final regional appearance from the "kid".
On her last night, it seemed appropriate that with :29 seconds on the clock she stood at the free throw line as Coach Butcher brought in reserves for the Central starters as Pike Central had just sealed the school's second regional title during the past four years
Ratliff's individual plays and just the tenacity, will be talked about for many years as she moves on.
My best compliment I can give to the "kid" is for all of the young ones learn to play with the dedication, passion, and just wanting to be the best!!
As Bogart said in "Casabannac",
"Here's to you Kid"

Haley Ratliff is an AWESOME ball player and an AWESOME person! I have enjoyed watching her play more than anyone I have ever watched in the 15th. PC retired her jersey on senior night and it was much deserved because no one will come close to wearing the #5 like the Superstar does - WE LOVE YOU AND WE WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK!
03-11-2007, 10:08 PM
Congratulations Haley!!! You definitely deserved MVP. It was a pleasure to watch you play ball. Best of luck in Bowling Green and whatever your future holds!!

BJB said it the best...as i watched her the other night my friends and I was sitting there and when she took it behind her back to beat 2 defenders then spun and pulled up to hit a shot i looked and them and said "It is Gods gift that we are able to watch a girl like this play"

For the last 4 years she has played in the regional championship game and 2 out of 4 PC has won and she has won MVP honors. She has had the greatest career of any girls player in the 15th. Congrats Haley. Keep rolling to Bowling Green.

hard to give her credit when u are a Magoffin fan, but she is a great player and a great carrer, I'd like to see her stats if she would have played in all of her highschool games, she is great.
Good Luck at state represent the 15th.

How exactly is that statement more than a little off? Look at the statistics if you have any doubts!

This is an appreciation post full of positive things. I realize you did say something positive about her, but there is no reason to cause controversy on this thread. She is a great player and I'm so happy she had a great ending to her senior year. Good luck at state and in the future!

But to say she is the best to ever play in the 15th region is going beyond the call of appreciation!!!
They said to look at the stats!!! I did.....Geri Grigsby The All-Time Scoring leader in State History....and did it in 3 years!!!

Like I said, there is no reason to take anything way from such a great player and a thread set up to thank her for all she has done. Controversy can be in another thread.

congrates Haley on your season and career and hope everything goes well at the D1 level but I would not risk a injury playing softball this season and hope you have a outstanding college career
03-18-2007, 12:21 AM
Haley, has played great all year. She gave it her all in the semi-finals. She played against a good LCA team, 3 referees, and an intense environment. Congratz for your 6 years at PC you will be greatly missed

It was really sad to see her walk off the court tonight, it was the last time a foul and point will be registered beside the #5 in a Pike Central jersey. Haley we love you so much and it has been a blessing from God to see you play. To Bev and Randy I am so proud of you all to raise not just one but two great girls, Haley has been one of the greatest people I have ever had the oppurtuinity to share time with. Haley just remember while your at college playing ball the sweat on your palm each game means "We are in good shape" lol memories will be for ever remembered. From the first state tournament against East Carter to tonight your high school carrer has been something to watch and remember. Your a Lady Hawk for life and your jersey will hang in The Nest watching over every team that steps foot on the floor.
