UK Board Won't Step in on Tubby
#1
Several members of the University of Kentucky's Board of Trustees expressed reluctance Tuesday to wade into any decision about the future of head basketball coach Tubby Smith.

I found this interesting:
Quote:He said the trustees, however, are generally opposed to big contract buyouts -- and Smith could be owed around $4 million if his employment were terminated. "The board is a big fan of honoring contracts," Hardymon said. "With our organization of 12,000 employees, the board would be crazy to get involved in any one thing like that."

I expect him back.

I doubt that.. If Tubby were to leave, then I would say there would be a few good coaches that would want to come to UK.. Pitino probably wouldn't come back. Donovan has a good thing goin in Fl. Coach K won't leave Duke, and Roy Williams won't leave NC.. I dont' think.. But if Tubby did leave I'm sure they could find someone better than Pelphry.. But we don't have to worry about nothing.. Cause with the money he is getting I'd say Tubby will keep on listening to people talk about how he is doing a sub-par job, and he won't change anything..
I'm in love with Tawnya.. hehe..

your half right. to say that tubby is a bad recruiter is insane. he has high school all americans across the board he just cant coach them. he made one bad recruiting call and theres no need to bring it up cause everybody knows what it is. in my opinion though tubby lost the miss st. game for them. why waved sheray thomas over to him and when the penalty was called acted stupid. he needs to go. uk should be elite year after year and their not anymore.

Wonder where UNC would be today if the Board of Trustees hadn't stepped in and removed Doh? Why can't/won't the UKBoT do the same?

I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing, lol!

I am gonna agree with a quote from Rick Pitino on this. He says if Kentucky gets rid of Tubby it will be making a huge mistake and it will set the program back at least 10 years. I think these people know more about it that we do.
#17
ok i dont mind to be set back 10 yrs
10 yrs ago we were playing for a national title
#18
when rick pitino said that he was using a little psychology i figured more people would pick up on that
#19
Yes...yes...as we all know, Rick Pitino has the best interests of the UK program always at heart now that he coaches UL...Pitino is never out for himself, never playing the angles...of course not....
