I don't know about everybody else, but I think the format of the tourney has really hurt the attendance. After watching SV/BL last night I would like to have watched AC/Phelps, but there's no way that I was sitting through the girl's game to watch it... Also, I think more people would have attended the Belfry/Paintsville game if there was another boy's game paired with it... I really think that the format of the tourney has taken away from it quite a bit...

And since the boys' state tournament doesn't start until March 21, the 15th should have had a later starting date than the girls tourney.
I'm betting that renting the Expo Center out this way is cheaper than having the tournament's held separately, so if I were guessing I'd say this is why the games are scheduled that way.

Probably as many or more come out for the girls anymore, it probably helps the boys attendance of fans. I do like how the fans for each team get tickets on their home side of the court for each game. The fans were great last night and waited for/and switched around without any trouble. I liked the mixture of girls/boys.

I have been every night, I still havent seen a small crowd to watch a game. As far as it hurting attendance, I take it you didnt watch Magoffin County girls play last night. They brought a bigger fan following than most boys team will. I also think if you want to watch two boys games in the same night then it wouldnt hurt anyone to sit threw a girls game. Even if you have no desire at all to watch a girls basketball game, as many people that are there you can find someone to talk to while you are killing time until the game you want to watch starts. I like the format and the event itself.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It is the size of the fight in the dog.

Magoffin County has a very talented group of girls and apparently some big fan support. There were quite a few BL and SV fans still there when the AC and Phelps games ended. And I know a lot of the AC fans came early to see the BL/SV game. Like BBOF said- there are plenty of people to talk with and it shouldn't be hard to occupy ones self for one game. I can't say what size crowd was there for the first game but I know AC had a good following last night. Hope to see an even bigger crowd out to support the Rebels on Friday.

The Belfry/Paintsville game was pretty packed...

I like the format, it adds a little to the atmosphere. Who knows, you may catch yourself at a girls game that you may usually skip, but end up enjoying what you see! My guess is that there a few girls teams in the 15th this year that could compete with some of the boys teams, I bet that comment will stir some pots!
