P'burg 61 PC 59
#1
Took two OT's but oh well.. Good effort by both teams.. Foul trouble hurt a lot. On both teams.

But congrats to P'burg. Game was closer than most people expected.
#2
Congrats Black Cats......Great game Hawks......
This is better than March Madness...It is March Mayhem.
#3
this could be the best regional tournment in recent history.
#4
No doubt that it is...so far.
#5
If the final games goes into just one OT. Then it will be the best one ever
#6
Poor officiating on both ends of the court DOES anyone agree...WHy call so many fouls?
But I have to say I got my moneys worth tonight watching both games, and both going into 2 OT's...CTD was you there?
#7
Way to go Cats.. I would say around 50-60 fouls called tonight.. but Congrats Pburg and congrats to Pike Central on a great game!!
Good Luck Friday Boys!!!!
#8
No I listened on the radio.. I wish I could have been there. but it did sound like poor officiating on both sides.. Even the announcers said so..

My question is does anyone know for sure if that last shot actually got off in time?

Don't be biased for either team.. IF you are from P'burg then have an open mind and tell me if ya really thought it should have counted

If you are from PC.. don't be upset. But tell me if you think it should have counted.
#9
I thought he got it off in time but it was hard to tell forsure because everyone was going crazy lol
#10
Well for one, IF pbrug would of showed up like they did against SF and not hit their free throws this game wouldnt be close, but hats off to coach crisp for working with these kids and getting them ready to shoot free throws....
I also have to say Pike Central is a good team, at the end foul trouble killed them...If im not mistaken they had 2 or 3 freshman in at the end of the game who usually sit on the bench? SOMEONE correct me if im wrong....But Pburg really stepped up tonight and played "SLOPPY" but team ball....Too many "high-tech" passes made in the paint when the players should have gone up strong and finished or got fouled....I would hate to see the foul # and the turnover # for both teams....I bet they add up close to 100 or more......
#11
Honestly CTD, I was standing there and I noticed the clock and it had like .9 seconds or less than a second and we shot the ball...But I stood there looking for a REF to say the basket was good and they started running off the court so My buddy and I left asap....so we could be the crowd....
#12
Pburg better pick it up if they want to win Friday.. they played too sloppy tonight.. but when theres 50-60 fouls called its hard to play a good game because nobody can get involved..but I thought they did play team ball tonight
#13
Congrats cats
best of luck against Rodneys oops................... sorry boohers boys
lol
#14
I don't really know what to say about this game. Compton hit a clutch 3 with 4 seconds left to take it to overtime. If P-burg plays like they have been lately against SV it isn't going to be pretty.

Congrats P-burg.
#15
ya know, I really miss the P-burg team that was dismantling the likes of SF, B-Layne, Belfry and others during the second half of the regular season... and I will tell you this much, if they don't show up SOON, it may be another one of those, "should have" seasons.
#16
AMEN brotha
#17
Congrats Blackcats, I thought the shot counted.

I totally agree withyou jayblackcat2006!!
#18
The shot did in fact count, Lewis attempted the first put-back with 4.5 secs left, missed, Mike Stephens rebounded, wasn't sure about the time and immediately put it up, and then with 0.6 I believe, Lewis finally put it in.
#19
Who ever tipped it in, Im glad you did
#20
I for one, do not believe the shot counted, I THOUGHT i heard the buzzer sound before the shot was put up. I was there, and I was painted blue. I think that if PC would have hit those clutch free throws, we would have won. I want to give a standing ovation to chase snodgrass, playing in overtime with dislocated ribs, that shows he has heart, the want to win, and love for the game. I know it got pretty rowdy in there, but there was no excuse when snodgrass was hurt for the P-burg fans to chant "change his diaper" when he was laying on the ground in pain, it was uncalled for and very unsportsmanlike.
#21
Yea I knew it was less than a second when lewis tipped it back in....And im also glad he tipped it in LOL....Would of been a long drive home and boring.....
#22
Thanks Lewis!! Big Grin Big Grin [smiley poster=grins:07c533eac7]Congrats Cats!!!!!!!![/smiley:07c533eac7]
#23
I for one doubt he has dislocated ribs. That would lead to internal bleeding and if he had taken one more shot in the ribs, it could have led to death, if this is true it's stupid on his behalf. He is a surprisingly good player though, no doubt.
#24
I pretty sure he did, I think someone was popping them back in, and he dislocated them earlier in football. I almost positive he did in OT but I will have to get back to ya'll on this one. Still cant believe this one, and still have blue paint on me after showering for an hour. This is a bad night.
#25
I was also at the game and I would like to say sorry for chanting that a couple of times...I dont think we thought it was that serious...We thought his pride was hurt more than his body I guess....But after a time or two I stopped chanting this...And Chase if you out there HECK of a game buddy and I hope ya get better...We didnt know how bad it was...At least we did stop and didnt say anything else about it....Usually our fans doesnt stop for anything like that....But once again SORRY chase YES it was disrespectful.....Ill admit it...
#26
I don't think he should have played if he had dislocated ribs.. no matter what the cause.. but if it is that serious hope he gets well
#27
Football05, you are a heck of a man, admitting mistakes. I would also like to apologize for anything PC said that was offending. I'll admit I sure wasnt the nicest person in the world tonite, but whats done is done. good luck all teams.
#28
Well I'm back from the game. Wow is all I can say about tonight's games. 2 OT thrillers. This goes to show just how even the 15th is this year. Amazing performance by Pike Central. I gotta tip my hat to them. They played a heck of a ball game and probably should have won this game, but P-burg had luck on their side tonight. Like someone said, if this same P-burg team shows up Friday night against Valley then it will be over after the 1st stanza. I also apologize on behalf of our fans. I was not sittin in the fan section, but was right next to them and I thought it was rude. I mean it's okay to chant and taunt the other team, but not when someone could be seriously injured. P-burg hit free throws tonight which really helped us out, and thank goodness for PC players fouling out or else PC would have won this one I believe. But enough what if's cuz this game is now in the books and P-burg lives to play another game. Officiating was horrible to say the least. Expected a better crew for this game since it wasn't 15th region officials, but I was wrong. I guess there's a bad crew in every region. Congrats to the seniors for PC for a good season that had to come to an end tonight. PC seemed to be really good sports and I respect a team like that. Again congrats to PC. Now cats let's go upset Valley.
#29
about the dislocated rib-- it is possible to aquire such a injury, and not have internal bleeding. depending on the impact angle of the dislodged rib, bleeding by lung puncture could occur. If you notice though, coach thompson was pressing on his back, to pop the rib back in place. Chase is a tough guy, and his desire to play his last moment in high school basketball is a lot more than i can say for a lot of other players. best of luch to Pburg, and hope you get to feelin better snodgrass, heck of a game to both teams.
#30
Ahh Hawkamania, I know he had to be in pain after seeing him roll around on the floor like that...And honestly I couldnt hear PC fans tongiht for some reason...Not to sound mean or anything maybe it was where i was in the upper section who knows....So I dont have any idea what was said...And like you said WHATS OVER IS OVER...and lets move on with it....We made a mistake in chanting that...Ahh I guess we wasnt thinking at the time and wanted to be funny.....But I have to say IF he did dislocate his ribs and he came back in and played hes either (1) Brave, (2) Crazy, or (3) Wanted to win.....Maybe it was a combination of a couple maybe all of em who knows LOL
