Rolleyes So you were watchin the clock instead of watchin to see how the game was gonna turn out Smile .

Meaningful is having three of your starters sitting on the bench with 5 fouls and the other two playing with four each. You use decoys in hunting, not basketball.

Nathan Arnett was the only player that fouled out that was even meaningful to Magoffin, the other two weren't anything but decoys pretty much. How many fouls were called on Eric Arnett and Devin Rice.

Yea they were meaningless...No team needs their starting PG. Come on now don't start that. I hate losing as bad as anyone but I would not have acted like that at all. I would have took the loss, it would be hard but i would have took it like a man. Fletcher, the other guy that fouled out was playing great D on Slone in the fourth quarter. Eric had 3 fouls and Devin had 3 also I believe. How about the tremendous flopping by Grimm. He is the worst flopper I have ever seen, but maybe he is just smart because it seems to work.

I just watched the game on TV. They said the shot at the end of regulation went in with .6 seconds left. So it took them 2.1 seconds to catch the ball, take a dribble, spin, get a rebound and shoot the ball...

I have to disagree with you Fletcher had 2 big shots tonight and Hunley also had a couple big shots and is there primary ball handler

Congratulation to MC great win! You overcame playing in an impossable gym, questionable referees, losing starters and stepped up and won. Looks like the Jungle is not sacred ground anymore!

Honestly, I don't believe that superman himself could pull that off

I would have to say that was one of the best games I have seen in quite a few years(even if it was sloppy at times). And I don't think anyone in that gym could have taken another OT.But if Eric walked during that last shot I would like to know how many walks(and fouls) Paintsville got away with.

I watched the game and it looked like he may have gotten away with one. But a lot of walks were not called in this game either way. If the game would have went into another OT I would have to leave the gym. To much excitement for me.

Why not???? Arnett drove 75 feet did a spin move and got the shot off in less than 4.6 sec.
Bundy caught the rebound in mid air and just threw it in. that might have taken .2 seconds.

Eric had 10 blocks the night before i think? Going by the "hops" he has, he could could very well be Clark Kent in that maroon uniform.

Congrats to the Hornets on a hard fought District Title. Sounds like you guys played this game like all I have seen you play, all out 110%, sloppy or not you left it on the floor. Good luck to both teams at the Expo. I think an SV/Paintsville 1st round would be great and maybe the Tigers can return the favor from last year.

A pet peeve of mine is when the annoucers say stuff when people are on the free throw line . It happens at every gym home or away seems like for some reason that gets on my nerves

Heck....I love our PA announcer to death, but even more when he actually get the names right!!! I remember a game last year where it was announced throughout that night that Shane Simpkins had scored around 20 points and he had graduated 2 years befor!!!

First off Congratulations to Magoffin Co. No one expected you to win, I pick them by 2 go check it out. When I walked into the gym it felt like a perfect night for an upset, as I watched Paintsville warm up they were shooting layups that you might see kids doing on the playground. 360's between the legs, didn't look like to me that Paintsville looked really worried, didn't look like they were getting ready to be in a dog fight with Magoffin. I really thought that Magoffin played a great game and the heart of the boys won that game, they could have gave up so many times in that game but didn't they wanted it to bad.
I thought Eric Arnett, Nathan Arnett, and Tyler Hunley had great games, played their hearts out. It really hurt the team when Clay Fletcher fouled out but Phillip Francis came in and played some of the best D I've seen in a while, didn't back down to Landon Slone it was great. Questionable calls could have taking out the Hornets but they held it together and Eric Arnett hit an incrediable shot to win the game IMO if this doesn't go the Hornets can't hang in there for another OT. Paintsville played their hearts out and I hope they go to the region and represent the 57th, maybe seem them again in the championship.
I also want to say hats off to Bill Mike Runyon, I once read on here that "BMR has never done anything to earn my respect." Well he earned mine tonight when he went out there and hugged Neil West and told him he done a great job and congratulated on the seniors, class act BMR. Great effort both teams go get the Regional Title Hornets..........

Yeah P-ville's players did act like they had nothing to worry about during warmups. But,when the ball got deflected and went in you kinda had to think it was MC's night.
And during the trophy presentation BMR had to make his team go out and accept the runner-up "prize".Plus to top it off they refused to take part in the after-game prayer.

Congrats MC.

My goodness! I hope you are not an adult!!To get on here and say that about 3 of our starters???? Man I dont know what game you were at, but all these boys played great!!! You got beat, so take it like a (man) or at least try. Congrats to my Hornets!! Ive never been more proud in my life!!! To come in and beat Paintsville on their home court is great, but DISTRICT TITLE is even sweeter!! I never seen a happier coach than Coach West and he is one heck of a coach. If you read this Coach, the whole time we were celebrating, I know Whistle and Reese Jr were looking down and smiling. They would be so proud of you. GOOOOOOOOOOOO Hornets!!!!
#86
Boys dont let these people get you down on one of the greatest nights of your life!!! You all made school history and Magoffin County proud!!! All these years of being told you will never beat Paintsville, guess what??? YOU did!!! Also if we had not won, I know you all would have graciously took the 2nd place trophy, fine group of young men.Now go to the Expo and have fun!!!! Love you all

Wow!!!!! Big Congrats To The Hornets!
#88
Congrats Hornets on a big Dist Championship.
#89
First off, that's how Paintsville warms up for every ball game. Second, the boys that replaced TWO (I did say two the first time around, not three) of the starters played just as good. All I was sayin was Hunley and Fletcher didn't do anything that impressive, the boys that came in for them were just as good if not better, especially on the defensive side.

Both teams walked all night long. I would like to know how many trips up the floor Magoffin got away with holdin on to Landon's arms or his jersey when Paintsville was on offense. We all know the 15th Region refs are HORRIBLE, but calls went both ways tonight, missed calls, pansy touch fouls etc. Paintsville woulda had a couple foul out too but coach Runyon took his players out at the right times. Like said earlier in the thread, all of Paintsville's starters had 4 fouls, Landon sat on the bench more tonight ALOT more then he has in any game all year.
