Bengals' Thurman gets 90 days in jail
#1
Thurman may get out of the 90 day sentence if he completes his treatment. Do you feel as if this is an appropriate sentence for his crime of DUI?

i think 90 days might be a little to long.

Why should he get 90 days in jail when just normal folks off the street just get fined and there license suspended for 90 days. Just because he plays football in the NFL doesnt make it right for him to spend 90 days in jail.

I think it's fair. I think all DWI's and DUI's should carry a punishment of this type though.

Most celebs and athletes get off too easy. It's good to see one finally get a tough sentence handed down to them, and it may set an example to the rest of the Bungal players before they get arrested..............again.

It has nothing to do with if he is a superstar or not. The Court system very seldom and I mean very seldom makes a 1st offense DUI spend anytime in jail. I by no means say they dont deserve it, but its just not common practice across the state or surrounding states to put someone in jail for any amount of time on their 1st offense.

90 days is not enough. People should lose their license permanently for DUI's . Society today is too easy on everything. You can't spank your kids, you sue people or companies for stupid things done to yourself(woman spilling hot coffee on herself and sueing and winning against McDonalds), people break the law and then start this I was abused and it's not my fault, or claim temporary insanity. Nobody wants to own up to their mistakes.

I couldn't have stated it any better.

This doesn't shock me a bit. The Bengals probably won't have training camp in Georgetown this year but go out west and have it in San Quentin so the whole team could be there. This is what 11, 12 different Bengals in trouble with the law? If these players go out in public and say their a professional athlete then they should act like one. It's a good thing he didn't hit someone and kill them.

Article made it sound like he's at least owning up to it and plans on straightening out, but it might be too late.

Agree BFritz! What would have been sad is if he would have hit and hurt or killed an innocent victim!

I agree, I completely agree, look at what happened to me, but the point is that "normal" people don't get that long for DUIs. There's other things that he SHOULD be in jail for, but if you're going to punish him for that, at least do it formally.
