Magoffin's jv is pretty good. nothing amazing but they get it done. Havent played in a month so who knows how it goes.

I cannot agree with ya hear darkside, Powells jv isnt weak, they have loads of talent and potential. They just dont play together. They have to many people who doesnt want to play their role. People who doesnt care about the team. People who gets down on other players. They need to get their act together as they will be the varsity next year. I am sure that Coach Lively will break them from these bad habits. I'm going to say that Powell will come out ready to play and beat magoffin by 10.

al of that stuff contributes to being a weak team. i never said they didnt have talent i said their weak team

Yea they are a weak TEAM. I wouldnt even call them a team. They fight and argue with each other over the ball. I guarentee that if you ask any jv player if they would rather score 20 and lose or score 0 and win that they would pick the first option. This does not apply to all players. The ones that it does know who they are.

They do have some really talented individuals tho. If they would all use their strengths together then they could probaly beat some struggling varsity teams. You hear stuff about Christian Brewer on here, but the real talent in underclassmen go to both the Davids, Crowe and Hawkins. They are both strong guards who can finish. Christian is not strong but can out dribble both of them. The only problem that Christian really has is being weak. He will run away from contact and tends to put his head down and throw up the ball when he drives the lane. I love the way that Hawkins and Crowe will drive hard to the goal and draw contact and finish. They have an arsonal of big men to use. Jon Conley leads the way for them. His strenth and touch is unstoppable sometimes. Billy Rice is a good athlete and has really come along this year. He is tall and athletic and can go up over people. Justin Mays is big and strong inside. Kevin Jarvis is athletic and plays good defense. Oscar Moore being the only back up guard comes off the bench and puts in great mins and handles the ball well. So I dont see why that this team can not enjoy winning. They can win if they would have the desire to and be unselfish. I have followed Powell Co. for several years now and I watched the team that plays varsity now in Jv and they seemed to have the same problem their fresh/soph years but it worked out for them. They will be Ok in my opinion.

Well it is hard to chose. Magoffin hasn't played in about a month or longer so they will be really rusty. But they have the talent to win.

IF Magoffin has anything then MAgoffin. Powell JV couldnt beat a good grade school team. And why so many post about their JV team who really cares until they get up to varsty and start gettting killed.
