Congrats TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Redneck Wrote:Who will it come down most likely in the 16th? Rose Hill and Elliott, possibly Russell, who are the better teams.

This year, Elliott will have to get by Russell. But the next 2 years should be between Elliott and Rose Hill. Of course, that doesn't mean there won't be other good teams that could knock them off, but those two should be the favorites.

congrats Paintsville

Charlie Wrote:To begin with Elliot Co. is one heck of a team that have great shooters especially the Ferguson kid. Not to mention the Faulkner twins as well. Basically Elliot Co. controlled the tempo of the whole game and practically led most. However, Paintsville kept it close and stepped up their defense in the 4th quarter. Landon Slone was the MVP of the game, however I thought Ferguson from Paintsville had a better game. Congrats to Paintsville on representing the 15th Region.

Interesting thoughts Charlie! Van Ferguson(Paintsville) did have a good game (i.e. 15 points 5 rebounds). Landon Slone, however, had 21 points, and 11 rebounds.

Elliot County is without a doubt, a top 20 team in Kentucky. They are well coached, their boys read screens better on the offensive end then anyone in the state. Great game, fun game, and the woman referee about gave me a heart attack.

We'll see Elliot County at Rupp.

Go Tigers...3 more.

way to go TIGERS, played really well when it counyed. they were out rebounded very bad in this game. The final 4 minutes or so, they were rebounding and playing excellent defense. good luck tonight guys.

The Tigers were outrebounded 41-38. That only bad part about it was that half of Elliott's rebounds were one the offensive side of the court. Paintsville can't let teams like this get so many second chances. Had it not been for Elliott's poor free throw shootin this game would have came down to a last second shot more than likely.

Dang i thought they were out rebounded worse than that .

I did too. It's one of those games where you kind of hate to see anyone lose but I'm glad P-Ville pulled it out in the 4th. Even though they were clearly outplayed the first 3 quarters they still kept it close and pulled it out when it counted. GOOD LUCK tonight!

Actually I would say there is no doubt that Elliot isn't a top 20 team in Kentucky. They lost to Raceland and to East Carter who both have losing records, and are at best middle of the pack in the 16th. There are too many really good teams in the state for these guys too be top 20. But in a couple of years...
#43
Nevertheless, good win Tigers represent the 15th well.

Larry legend you have been watching to many games in French Lick & not enough in the 16th or have you watched any 16th region games? To say Elliott is middle of the pack in the 16th is your opinion, though an embarrassing one for you.

I hope you're joking. They're good but top 20 in the state with 5 sophomore starters and a couple of bad losses is a stretch. You might want to take a look at Russell to see the best team in the 16th Region.

It was evident that to those who have watched Ferguson play all year and by looking at the stats of the game that he came out fairly strong the first quarter, but as the pain and swelling got worse he could not perform as he normally does. Friends of Ferguson say that his ankle was swollen and in such pain that they could hardly get the wrap from his ankle after the game, must be really tough to play in that condition. Lucky Paintsville!!!!!!!!!!

Didn't say that Elliott was middle of the pack, I stated that the teams they lost too were. Read carefully.

It must have been tough. Lucky Paintsville? No a good experienced Paintsville team. Elliott County is good but the better team won last night. IMO the next two years Elliott County will be the team to beat.

Will be looking forward in the hope that Elliott and Paintsville meet again this year when Ferguson is full throttle. It will not be lucky Paintsville if that takes place. "Elliott is a better team when at full throttle."

Sure....

Paintsville made the defensive shift late in the first after Ferguson had put 15 points on the scoreboard. Paintsville put Slone on Ferguson and countered with a way to get around the illegal screens that Elliot sets and Ferguson was just shut down by Slone plain and simple! Elliot's time will come, just not now. The only thing with his ankle was to be used as an excuse because he couldn't shake Slone. Just hope in one hand about a repeat as both these teams will be lucky to get out of very good regions. Not the best regions, but very good.

Ferguson only scored 12 in the first!! He also sat out 2:58 in the first. He also only scored two less than slone for the game! It is a shame you would slam him by saying his ankle was just an excuse!!!!!!!! I personally took the brace and wrap off of it. He could barely stand the pain and it was very very swollen!!! He is a class act if you dont believe it ask all the Paintsville players whom he joked and laughed with during the game and hugged their neck's after the game!!!!!! You evidently are not a very class act though!! And to speak up in his defense as he will probably never be on this site, he took ten shot's in the second half seven were plenty open. He only hit three of them(2-2's and 1-3) and it's easy to see in the video his elevation and balance were off especially on the free throw's he couldn't even fully extend to his toes. Landon is a good defender but the main problem Ferguson had was his ankle!!!!!

Hard fought win for Paintsville, Congrats.

Yeah but Van Ferguson has a bad ankle as well so i guess he could have scored more and play better D but we will never know along with the other Ferguson.

Did I say he wasn't a class act?
I thought it was settled earlier in another thread that neither team would use excuses.
But here they come. He is a very good shooter. But go ahead and boost him up. Just giving out a little medicine that anyone from Paintsville always gets whan talking about their players.....not much fun huh?
