WOW!!! This was a fun game to listen too on the radio!
#3
yes it was

Great game by both teams. Does anyone have any stats? I enjoyed reading Black and Gold's updates, good job tonight.

Very fun game to watch indeed, i was almost tossed by the ref, lol, and i dont even go to there anymore, haha. Anyway, missed free throws would have KLILLED JCHS had SC gotten on the boards a little harder. Seemed like JC would miss every other free throw, and then get the offensive board. Also some tough luck news for JC fans, star Point Guard Jaryd Crum suffered a broken collar bone in the 3rd quarter on a screen by Danny Hinkle. Tough loss for the Eagles, and for Jaryd.

You mean that Johnson Central has reached the level where they struggle this much with Sheldon Clark, they have completely fallen off the map. How are the defending regional champs playing this poorly?

As of now Jaryd doesn't know the extent of his injury. He was taken to the doctor after the game for further evaluation. I will keep you all posted on his condition. Now, on to the game. SC played as well as they could have and still lost. JC played terrible and the refs..WOW, they were horrible! Starns said after the game on the radio he couldn't believe how low KY basketball has gotten with it's refs. I totally agree the two refs had their head in the ground all night and missed several calls that affected the outcome of the game. And I'm talking both ways. The 15th region has the worst refs in the state!

Congrats to the Eagles! But I didn't think it would take 2 OT's to get the win. But anyway, a win is a win. Take it anyway you can get it.

Congrats JC.

for JC. It was much like a JC home game, the SC band and cheerleaders were at the all A classic with the girls team, so really we had no home court advantage. SC fan support is really dissappointing...

Oh yeah..I forgot about the ALL A

Good news Eagle fans!!! Way to play smart and tough in a very bad situation men.GO EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :letsparty TongueirateSho TongueirateSho

Any stats on this game? How did the big guy for SC do?

Yeah I was there and when I say bad refs I mean they were bad both ways. They really let the game get out of hand and it is a shame. I think they missed several walks, fouls, and does anyone know is 3 seconds is a rule anymore. Both teams camped out in the lane all night. I actually heard some fans yelling "We want Wendell" referring to Wendell Wallen who many think is the worst ref around. I think the worst thing about the refs around here is they are not consistent. One night they will call everything then the next they call nothing. This was a great game to watch though, both teams really played hard and kept hitting big shots. Congrats to the eagles and cards because either team could have won had a few calls went the other way.

I know McCarty had 28 but 27 of those came in the 2nd half and overtimes. Starns sat him pretty much the entire 1st half and maybe finally got to him about passing and taking better shots because he shot 11-19 and dished out 8 assists and had 11 boards. Also, Robert Smith had 6pts and 10 boards, Joe Whitaker had 14 pts and Ian Welch pulled down 11 rebounds. I was impressed with SC's big man as well. He gets great position on the floor and knows what to do with the ball when he gets it. What grade is he in?

The big guys are seniors. This is 55's first year playing basketball, he ahs come a LOOOONGG way. And 54, he is just a hoss. Prbably the strongest guy in the region. SC will be very weak down low next year.

I think 54 could prolly start at any school in the region. He is a beast and JC sure couldn't handle him. 55 is a great shot blocker. He may have had 10 tonight, he has great timing.

Shew, that was a close one. C'mon now Eagles let's get hot. That was a fun game to watch, I hope Jaryd is alright. If anyone gets any updates on him please let us know.

I was talking to a 15th region official near the start of the season and he was told at their meeting that they were to ease up on the 3 second calls so that the game could be played more up tempo.
#24
Congrats JC. Looks like an exciting one!
#25
Gotta a chance to watch this game. Sheldon clark gave this one away. Nice effort though. JC is struggling. Three of their six wins have been overtime wins.
#26
Great district win Eagles! Sheldon Clark played very hard! The game was very sloppy but it is an important win on the road. All the JC players stepped up and played tonight, keep up the good work!

This was the worst officiated game ever, and I have said that after every district game this year. I thought there was supposed to be three officials at these games. The officials are going to keep on until there is a big fight or some player is seriously hurt. Just like the Crum kid could have last night. They let the game go on rough for ever, then call a touch foul. The technical foul on Ian Welch was the most stupid call I have seen. They let them talk and push all night, then when the game was on the line, call this foul. How many close games has Thad Duff made calls against JC boys and girls this year? The KHSAA better get hold of the officiating in the 57th and 15th or some innocent player will be hurt or worse yet, cause a fight to break out.
#27
I was at the game and why should JC fans say anything about the officials because the free thrws were 41 to 19 in their favor. What got me more than anything else was listening to the post game radio show where both Starns and McKenzie was saying that SC was trying to hurt JC players and I wa near the scorers table and heard both give the timekeeper a hard time all night. Of course the game was going to be rough because of two officials but when Crum got hurt, it was a legal screen and he should be mad at his temamates for not tellinh him there was a pick. Starns showed very little class on the show and I was J R Hammond I would be more than a little upset with those commments made

Yeah, corndog... apparently someone jumped on the Jaryd Crum bandwagon!

Not that I don't love and respect Spud, we go way back, but I'm not gonna support JC just because of him. Rolleyes
#29
Tubbyhater that is how bad the officials were, when you win on the road and say the officiating was bad it is bad! JC got called on a screen just a few plays before on a touch call, then 54 blocked Crum a few plays later and it was not called. You are right, a foul should not have been called, it should have been clipping and a 15 yard penalty.

Starnes said the right thing and should not apologize to anyone. Just stating facts of how things are and being able to back them up is still acceptable behavior.
#30
If it was a legal screen no foul should be called!

Crum's teammates should have called the pick -- basic fundamental basketball.
