i have been to several games at memorial gym this year. i don't think the pep section got rowdy at any of them!
01-18-2007, 02:22 AM
Did u even READ the posts??? Man we were having a discussion bout the reasons for the pepsection sucking this year---go back n read. No I didnt get mad that someone thinks somewhere is harder to play---it is the way Thatshowirole said it....sayin it was stupid and that hazard isnt any good. I have to defend my team...IDC where u from and u r entitled to ur opinion that is what this site is about!!! So ease up man...what I said to Thatshowirole had nuthin to do wit u. and if u wanna get all mad about it get ur facts straight first..aiight?

As a matter of fact we have ONE OF the best teams in the 14th...and well just have to prove as usual that we deserve some respect--in football and basketball. Weve proved this fact time and again like last year, 2004, and so on....... I am tired of ppl sayin the only player worth nething for us is Hicks!!! Weve got so much talent that is overshadowed by one athlete....dude I think this thread is about where is the toughest play is....and everyone has a diff. opinion. *ThatsHowIRole* ---Jus dont get on herr and talk junk bout sumthin u kno nuthin about, cuz u dont

Calm down, Lineman. Save it for the Hazard-PCC game tonight. LOL I'm sure that Hazard's pep section will be up to par for this game!
01-22-2007, 02:18 AM
Cordia and Whitesburg use to be a hard place to play at.

A Decent Lineman Wrote:I think the pepsections would be better if we didnt play the same teams like 6 times in a season...and the prices of admission werent like $7 for even the students!!! Tommorow night will mark the 4th or 5th time weve played PCC this season...lol...and at $20 or more dollars for a family to get in??? No wonder our fanbase has somewhat died....but GOOD POSTS Larry B and bluengold!!! Now my wish is to make Daniel Field as hard a football field to play at as memorial gym is to play at now!!! haha
its four dollars man...same price as when i was in high school, twenty bucks a week aint that bad...i never missed a game, home or away no matter the price of admission

For years Owsley County's gym was a hard place to play but they've been down the last few years.

Larry Bird Wrote:its four dollars man...same price as when i was in high school, twenty bucks a week aint that bad...i never missed a game, home or away no matter the price of admissionyeah but some of the kids cant afford 20 dollars a week and on top of that girls games too, i know i cant say anything Larry Bird, i was there like at every game last year but since i've started driving gettin 20 bucks a week just for games is pretty expensive especially for most of the kids who drive to school and for kids who live afr away frm the gym.

In the day...
Owsley was hard to play at because of the lighting
Whitesburg due to a heat stroke
Powell due to cheating
Knott was freaking wild with the Blue Crew
Hazard and PCC had fan sections that would chase your a$$ out of the gym THEN kick brews in the parking lot.

hazard is the hardest gym due to lights. powell just has a lot of support from the crowd.

Hazard is one of the best Gyms you can play in.
01-14-2009, 06:05 PM
The Morton Combs Athletic Complex AKA Knott County's Gym circa 2000. There were some absolute screaming heatherns in those stands.

i have to say either PCC or HAZARD but its hard to figure out so..

if anyone witnessed the 2003 regional finals i think breathitt and perry central fans alike will have to say powell co has to be the hardest place to play walking on the floor going 8 on 5 for a start
then i've seen games at wolfe and lee where refs take over the games and therefor IMO makes them the toughest places to play

Of course I would say Memorial Gym as well!! It is also the hardest place to park in the 14th region, except for maybe Cordia, unless it has changed the past few years!!
01-15-2009, 04:38 AM
Speaking of Cordia, that was a tough place to win in the early 1990's!! Probably still tough to get a W there these days, IDK. It's been a while since I have been around!!
01-15-2009, 10:30 AM
i would have to say memorial gym but do agree with cordia also i remember how tough it was there in the early 90"s.

If not the players going to the next level will be getting a rude awakening if you dont think that this doesnt happen in college or professional bball.
I could think of several words to describe Hazard's pep club however them "going wild" at the games as in actually effecting the outcome of those games is not one of the things that comes to mind.

LOL Far from mean and tough. Give me PCC's pep anyday over them.

Memorial Gym is not only historic to our region it was once a feared place to play for any team in the state. During the dynasty years of Hazard nobody wanted to play them in Memorial. It may be old but when you sit down and look up the banners speak for themselves.
