Johnson Central 53 Paintsville 37

The Lady Eagles completely shut Paintsville down in the second half allowing only 14 points. Great game, the key to the win was JC's defense, Carroll had 10 at halftime and ended up with only 16. For Central they were led by new starter Freshman Ashley Young with 21 points.

OK.... What I am about to say might hurt some feelings, but like I have always stated, I call it like I see it!
First off, I would like to congradulate JCHS on a very well deserved win and that they played like winners!
Now.... to my favorite Girls basketball team in the entire world. You played like crap, and you know it! This was the worst display of teamwork, passing and shooting(if you want to call what you did shooting) I have seen in a very long time!
The first half JC wanted to set the tempo and you let them.... But you executed and were patient and took only good shots! Your defense was good, but, then again JC seemed to want a slower pace. What happened at halftime??? You came out in the third and saw JC wanting to pressure and you acted as if you had never seen a press befor in your young lives!!! And it wasn't all that much of a press!!! TERRIBLE, LAZY passes!!! Nobody coming to the ball. And when you did have a shot opp. nobody sqared up, you just threw the ball towards the goal!!! Come on!!!! At least give the ball a chance!!! We must have missed at least ten shots from 6 feet on in, in the second half alone by being LAZY, SCARED OR WHATEVER you want to call it!!!
You are better.....hell.......you are tremendously better than what you displayed tonight!!!
Some people will tell you to put this game behind you.......DON'T YOU DARE!!!!
Remember this game for the rest of your season, remember what it feels like to embarrass yourselves, and your team and get pissed off!!! DON'T EVER LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOURSELVES AGAIN!!! Or you will be watching the Dist. finals from the bleachers!

Thanks, some on here think I just believe that everything Paintsville does is great and get mad at me when I blast some other team. I tell them all the time that I let my teams from PHS have it just as much as any!!! LOL

Just wanted to say that I thought Paintsville's girls were very classy when, before the tipoff, they went to Central's bench and consoled B.B. Salyer who is out for the year and awaiting surgery.

That was a very classy!

Great Job by the young Lady Eagles last night. They played with patients and let the game come to them. Ashley Young look great but at times she showed her inexperience. It is good to see this group of kids pull together after a huge bit from the injury bug.

B.B. Salyer, hope everything goes well during surgery. Get well soon.

Congrats JC .. Freshmen A.Young had alot on her shoulders tonight and she really stepped up. Paintsville played very sloppy. I look for this young JC team only to get better and hopefully make some noise in the districts!

The lady eagles play with a lot of effort and desire. They had their few sloppy turnovers but it was a great win!

Thought Coach Wireman did a good job by slowing the ball down and controling the game. By doing this he kept the Tigers out of their run and gun, which they love to do. The Eagles played half court all night and executed all night. Can't believe the Tigers allowed it happen though. They were content to sit back in the zone. Don't think it will happen next game and IMHO, I don't think the Eagles are 16 point better team than the Tigers. But, I guess they were on this night. Young was a big surprise, she stepped up and played great for the Eagles.

J.C. must have palyed real well against Paintsville. What happened aainst Boyd Co.? They could have had a mental letdown by playing the next day after defeating their biggest rival. Was B.B. Salyer a starter for J.C.?
