Whatâs up for JBS in the next couple of years? Iâm eager to see what they have in store for the 14th region once Stepp is gone.

It only depends who they can recruit into the Stepp system.

I agree and if they dont then they're in trouble. From what I hear the school it self will be shut down in four years, they'e only keeping it open for two reasons, # 12 and # 4.

You wouldn't even care a thing about JBS if they weren't doing so well in basketball.
12-17-2006, 01:54 PM
I dont think thier is anyone to replace Stepp

As far as recruiting comes, personally i dont see them needing it. Clarks younger brother Clint will soon be earning basketball respect all over the mountains. There is also some freshman you all are forgetting about, the 6'4 Shane Slone who can dunk it, The point guard Braxton Childers, the 7th grade Zach Davis who has one of the best shots i have seen. As these players progress, they are still gonna be the team to best for the next several years. There is NO stopping this team.

I have to agree with you on this one, Clint Stepp will definitely get noticed. The Stepps do an excellent job promoting their boys and using the Stepp name to do so. It seems that they have finally gotten Clark out there ahead of Hicks from Hazard or at least by WYMT.(I wonder why that is) I still don't think they've won the coaches over yet. Hicks IMO is the best player in the region by far, but can't seem to get the respect he deserves. I guess it pays to no people.

Once clark is gone there not going to be any where as good as they are. Clark may not pass the ball but he is still one of the best players in the 14th and from what i have seen from the younger stepp brother he is not going to be as good as clark, childers will probably be held down because of his name just like his brother, and shane slone is all show and is not as good as collins. The only player that will be really good is tate cox and i know everyone says it but one player CAN'T win a game. So once clark it will be over for jbs for a while

Three more years and the school will close it's doors.

Are you serious? I think you're giving Daddy Joe a little more power than he has. There are people over him that decide what will happen to JBS. The school has been there since 1984; I don't think it's gonna close just because a Stepp graduates. And I have a friend who works at ALC who says that Daddy Joe has done more for ALC and JBS than any president before him and that the school is in great shape!

JBS wont be shut down

JBS's JV are winning their games now against what other teams are gonna have. Nason Roberts is gonna be good. Zach Davis could play with the high school now if he will get a little stronger. Seth Adams and the King kid are good. They have several coming on.

JBS will be the team to beat for next four years I will say. They have more potential coming up then you'd think. It's hard to get noticed when you're competing with Stepp and Cox for playing-time. I watched JBS's JV play KCC, seems that the Davis kid is going to be a nice player, and Braxton Childers has a lot of potential, he just needs confidence to shoot more. Shane Slone has tremendous potential, he just needs more experience. Once Stepp leaves, JBS will still be competing with the best.

their great... they beat our freshman team by like 11
01-07-2007, 12:09 AM
Idk if never seen them play before but do u think they will play the same kind of Schedule even after Stepp is gone or will they go back to Riverside and Piarist
01-07-2007, 01:01 AM
They will keep their same schedule. It may even get tougher. They'll have much more respect by the time Stepp is gone.

yeah they might but i still don't think they will have much of a team once stepp is gone
01-07-2007, 01:09 AM
They will be good. You watch and see. The Stepp's are not their only talent.

the thing is i have been watching the gradeschool team is good incounty but out of that they are another average team and i know stepp is not there only talent his probably not even their best player right now but thats not the point

i think that the kcc boys freshman team is one of the best freshmans they are...with, ratliff, collins, mosley, mullins, spencer and bartrum, they all are on varsity and they all play good together so thats my opinion..

yeah and stamper is also a freshman so all of them will probably make a tough team to beat
01-07-2007, 01:45 AM
That's why JBS's JV beat them? Cox is a freshman also. You do the math.

pickandroll Wrote:That's why JBS's JV beat them? Cox is a freshman also. You do the math.So your saying Knott is better?
01-07-2007, 01:50 AM
No, JBS by a long shot. Clinton Stepp and Tate Cox could both play on the freshman team or JV, and JBS beat KCC's JV team without either of them. Of course they didn't have Stuart, but Tate is 2x the player of Stuart and Clinton would only benefit to them.
01-07-2007, 01:52 AM
Tate shouldnt, He start Varsity

pickandroll Wrote:That's why JBS's JV beat them? Cox is a freshman also. You do the math.
o yeah they did didn't they i think i was at that game and cox is a freshman no way i didn't know that but im wondering when you were going to say something about clint stepp he is a freshman to you know that i wonder if you also knew that about a year ago hindman beat jbs in gradeschool so in about say 4 or 3 years stamper, bartrum, and mullins will be apart of that team. so just so you know i know i little more than people think and i did the math
01-07-2007, 01:54 AM
Just like Stuart shouldn't he starts varsity as well. I was just trying to prove my point by saying JBS's younger ones are better then KCC's. Case closed.
01-07-2007, 01:57 AM
well yea Stamper shouldnt either...IDK about if there better
