East Ridge in 2007

How do you think they will stack up? Who are the key players?
#2
Caleb Epling, Tyler Hylton, and Andrew Robinson will all be key players for the warriors.. Plus I heard they had a sophomore hitting 80 mph now.
#3
Andrew Robinson will be there best player!!

This is true. Joel Meade will more than likely be the ace of the staff, and he is only a sophomore. He was clocked at 79-80 at the Tennessee camp they attended this summer. He needs to work on control, and needs to develop his offspeed pitches a lot, but should be a dandy when he is an upperclassman

I think ER will have a great year.
#6
Warrior fans should be excited. They only lost 2 players to graduation...only 1 of which played, Zack Thacker. IMO they should make some noise.
#7
Who will be coaching them? I dont think that the B.O.E. will let a principal coach. If Justice was the assistant principal then that would be different.
#8
I think that Dave Spradlin will be the head coach with Justice "helping out". Which technically is legal.
#9
i hear mickey lawson may be coaching
#10
I know absoultly nothing about baseball but i wish the best of luck to the warriors.

Talked to Coach Justice tonight and he informed me that Lou. Ballard, Williamson, WVA, Hazard and East Ridge are in the Warrior Wooden Bat Tourney. The Warriors are also playing in a tournament at Lex. Tates Creek. They have a tough schedule this year.
#12
Yea they do have a tough schedule this year and that is probably not good for them...They have so many young kids and they will fold up when they get into a stretch where they play 3 or 4 good teams in a row...I dont think they will make any noise this year but given the right coach and a couple of years things should turn around....They really wont have any standout players or studs on the team...they are all just about the same at average....But like I said it wont be this year but could happen in the near future.
#13
If they are looking for a coach why dont they go after the guy that use to be at Elkhorn City...I think his name was Joey Thacker...He was there and won a bunch of districts in a row and won a region...He left and went somewhere but I'm not sure where...So if they are looking this would be the perfect guy to bring in...I think he could get the job done and get them back on track...That's just my opinion though.

They have enough talent to make some noise in the 15th this year.

I agree.. Between Andrew and Jerran Robinson, and Caleb Epling and Tyler Hylton, you cant say they dont have talent.

I have Watched this young man pitch before, and i am not impressed.
if he is a sophmore he should be hitting arround 80 mph.
But his 80 mph is the flattest I have seen. He has no curve ball( that is any good),and No change-up. this will make that 80 mph seem like 70mph.
Off- spead is what makes the difference between a good thrower and a good pitcher.
Joel is a good thrower.

Why should he be hitting 80 jusy because he is a sophomore? There are only a handful of pitchers in this region that can hit 80 to begin with.

I was refering to the fact that since his off-spead lacks a little bit he'll have to throw at least that much if he has any hopes of not getting racked by a GOOD team.

If his placement is good, then not necessarily. 80 MPH can be nothing more than just good BP speed for a lot of teams, even in the 15th region.

i agree
his placement isnt verry good
and his fastball is flat
you cant win against good teams without control, movement and good off-spead.

For that matter, you cant beat many weak teams if you dont have very good control.

I'll give you a little advice, dont ever underestimate how good anybody can ever become if they are willing to work their tail off.

That is what i was implying
if he improves that means he worked his tail off

Why direct that statement towards any one player, that statement can apply to everyone.

that is true

No way...Its going to take a few years...A lot of those kids have some growing up to do and when they do, it will be something special....They have loads of talent in their young kids but they just dont have the upperclassmen to lead them...They will make some noise but not this year....I watched them when they came to Pikeville last year and like I said their young kids is where its at! Im not saying they wont win any games because they will and will even beat some teams they arent suppose to.
