Slone at Pike Central

Has the KHSAA ruled on the Slone girl that came from Phelps. Does anyone know?

I don't understand how she got eligable either ; when you look at it paige lowe moved to a different county last year and could not play and don't pike central have 2 girls from pikeville high school that can't play this year so how did she get to play does anyone know the answer?

its all about who u are .... coaches seem to always find a way around important things....makes no since..... pc will have an advantage but they better not get to in to having her there b/c she'll be back at phelps before they know it.....looks like lowe has some competition...wonder how that will work out lmao

I wish Slone luck, but I do not agree with the whole going back and forth thing. I beileve that you shouldn't be able to do that-- but I'm not the one who decides that. Looks to me like the coaches would get fed up with it themselves and not allow her to play so easily....but doesn't look like that's how things work.

We'll just have to see how it works out. A player doing this, transfering to a new school to play ball cause a lot of problems. It messes up chemistry,creates jealously and causes problems with players getting playing time.

Remember a couple of years ago when Pikeville loaded up their team with some players from different schools. They was picked to win the region and the team never did develop as they hoped.

Central is a really close team and i think that Slone fits in there good ........but we will see how the playing time goes between Slone,Pennington,AND Lowe.......Slone and Lowe were BIG Rivals when Slone waS at Phelps.....But if they can gret the chemistry Flowing them two can Domonate!!!

I wonder how the two from Pikeville feel that transferred..Here AD gets eligible and they have to sit out and the thing is when they do get ruled eligible they will probably still be sitting out with Slone, Pennington and Lowe on the team.

Slone has been mixed in slowly but surely as of recent she didnt play her first two games back but now is getting minimul time she is still trying to learn how Butcher does things as PC...she is really hitting the boards hard...now PC is 3 deep at the post which will create problems for other teams down the road...i do not see her putting many points on the board i think she will avg 6-8 pts a game but will be avg about 6-8 rebounds which is what PC needs badly...A great post player on a great team and a girl who has her heart in the game...the Chemistry will work out just fine...just got to give her time to be worked in more...her and Lowe will get along just fine...

Recruiting players is just wrong in so many ways...and the main reason is that it hurts players who have always been there and work hard every day...so then you just throw them to the side for the new transfer.

Butcher did not recruit her for one thing she decided to come to Pike Central willingly not once did Butcher have to ask anything of Slone it was her own personal decison...Plus she has been working hard as well during the off season she has not as of now took anyones playing time away she has rather been sitting on the bench learning from her team mates...see the thing diffrent between spectators and players is they see what is going to help the team and they know she will help this team in the long run...out of the girls who should be getting playing time she is getting the least...

No one said Butcher recruited her. But I have been in High School basketball a long time. If you have this many players moving around it sends up a Red Flag to everyone.

Its horrble that she moves around so much..can't she just find a place and stay....i agree i think that this will cause problems for pike central....there can only be one ball on the court at a time...should stir some trouble up for the big girls that have been there a while...i know if it was me and a transfer was put in before i was then i would be mad...so this should be interesting...

there are several post at central Kayla Lowe,Kayla pennington,Regan Willams,Brucie robinson,Kristina Fields these girls have been there for along time the condisioned over the summer and attended every prac. i think the comming of A.D may cause some problems with these gurls.But central seems to be a realy close team so i really dont no! they have alot of potencial in the post area

the thing i dont understand is why that the coaches still let her play..she will just up and leave them all at once and act like nothing ever happened.she's dirty and for her to move around so much she really isnt that good.... its just someone putting her up on a pedistal and praising her.she is slow and does not hussle at all....

In my opinion the fact that she is a transfer does not matter! If she goes out and out performs these other girls in practice and games, then she deserves the playing time! The game is played to be won, so if Slone gives PC a better chance of winning then she should be playing. To all the other girls who have been there longer, go to practice and work twice as hard as her, prove that you want and deserve the playing time. I'm sure Coach Butcher will recognize your hard work and reward you with PT, if he thinks it give's the team the best shot to win!!
Now as far as Slone leaving the team and going to another school next year, well that is next year, worry about that next year! Right now she is part of your team, so use it to the team's advantage for this year! Obviously she must have some talent, or else we wouldn't be discussing this right now, so just find where she fits in the puzzle and use her for all she is worth this season and let next year be next year!!!
