Who will winthe 14th region this year
12-13-2006, 12:15 PM
I think Powell could take the 14th this year

The 14th is tough this year. There are alot of teams that could win the 14th. I think it is wide open

anyone can pull out a victory, the 14th is tough this year. it all goes down to who wants it more.

I agree with this, there are quite a few good teams in this region. It's anyone's guess.

Perry County Central will win the region imo. They have too much size, quickness, and experience.
I don't see any team in the region being a serious challenger to the Lady Commodores.

Perry Central will when this year. Madden is to big for anyone to handle. You may think you can stop her but you cant. Well at least not at the John C. Combs Arena anyway. They are not totally invincible but they are pretty darn close.
I personally would like to see LCC, KCC, or Breathitt win it this year. But the odds are against them.

I think the 14th is wide open to. It has alot of good teams with alot of potential to grow throughtout the season and possibly even surprise some people..Perry central is always a favorite to win because of the size of their school...but i think a underdog might take it this year IMO

Perry Central is good but they will have some competition

I agree with MtnGirl, I think there are a lot of teams in the 14th that can take the win. Don't underestimate any teams! It all comes down to who wants it more, its not every bit about talent IMO. Yes, talent has some to do with it, a team with no talent can't do much, but heart comes into play for a big role in teams. Too much talent can sometimes result in conflict.

It is PCC's to lose. Breathitt, LCC, Leslie are the next to have any shot at the Lady Commodores.

Size and quickness matters in basketball, but heart and determination is more important.

Before tonight I was convinced PCC was the absolute best in the 14th, head and shoulders with Breathitt at a far 2nd. But Breathitt pulled out a great win tonight without their best player (IMO) Nicole Lutes... So now Breathitt has made me a believer in their LadyCats... I'm going with Breathitt or PCC in the 14th with a hard-nosed battle game in and game out...

the 14th region can have many surprises and dissapointments. no one knows who will win until it comes the tournament. the underdog may come out with it, or the big dog who was picked to win it will come out. anything can happen on any night, and when it is in the 14th region it is completly true.

Perry is very strong this year. I still think they'll win it, but I'm surprised Breathitt beat them.

I'm not surprised at all.

I was a little surprised too...but I think some teams will pull out some surprise wins this season. I'm rooting for the unexpected teams to win this year!

I still think Perry Central will easily win the region this year.
Breathitt beat them, but that was a huge upset, and it won't come close to happening again.
Some of you have posted that Powell will win the region. I'm always for the underdog, but that scenerio is so far fetched it's not even funny. No team from the 56th is even close to being in the race for a trip to the state tournament.
No disrespect, just being honest.

But until they win a statement game against someone like Perry Central or Breathitt County, then folks are going to have doubts. PCC beat Owsley by 30-something points in a preseason panarama.

pcc is always a tough team, kcc is tough, lcc is the defending champs and looking good this year. the region will be fun to watch this year. and dont foget about the teams in the middle, powell, breathitt, hazard, leslie and owsley.

IMO Perry Central

From what I have been told is that KCC is holding regions this year.

I believe that if the Lady Owls put their head and their heart into ANY game, they can surprise you. We'll just have to wait until they do get another chance to prove themselves against a tough team. They are playing great team ball lately, and I believe any game they play in would be a great game to come and watch.
:1: GO LADY OWLS!
