Very nice to see John and Colby got honorable mention all state from Shelby Valley!!!
#7
Congrats to those selected....kind of surprised though that JC's Tackett and Johnson didn't make atleast the 3rd team. I thought those two may have very well been the best LB tandem I had seen all season.
#8
nice to see Drew on there again
#9
Congrats to all.
#10
Congrat's to these guy's on this accomplishment and congrats to Brad Bryant
#11

If that is true is their another All-State team selcted by Coaches? or is this the only one?
#12

Yes they meant Brad Bryant.

IMO if Clark made 1st team all state, with just 2 interceptions, where in the world is Ian Welch from Johnson Central, who had 13 picks.. he should have been up there before clark on D.

I would assume that picks were not the only stat that they looked at. It would have been based on total performance.

I wouldn't even justify that one with an answer.Confusedhh:

C'mon that was a slow pitch to ya. I was waiting for you to hit it out of the park. Smile
#20
It was more like an intentional walk.

theres someone out in the state was a way better D player then Clark. Guess they just had to stick on first team somewhere.

Why don't you share your thoughts on the matter and not just keep saying negative things about players.

im not, kasey is an outstanding player, IMO should have made first team all state, but go figure someone from the louisville area would make it.
competition does kill on that aslo.
#24
I really don't think you could find too many defensive players in the state better than Clark. As a safety he was as good in pass coverage as he was at run support. He got, interceptions, fumbles, sacks, and hit like a middle linebacker. I would say he is being recruited more for his defense than for his offensive talents by most of the schools showing interest.

If not as a safety than as a reciever. He has incredible hands.

Congrats Guys

How was Shawn Grimm not a first team RB? How was niether Micheal Tackett OR Blake Johnson on atleast third team defense?

How in the world did Daniel Pugh not atleast get honorable mention as a DB?

Ah, congrats to all the EKY boys who made the list somewhere.

Because Doug Beaumont and Victor Anderson were 1st team RBs.

I agree with you about Tackett and Johnson and you can add Josh Wills of Russell in on that one too.

Painstville wasn't even close to the same team they were the previous year and without the supporting cast and success in the win column Pugh really had no chance.

I know Beaumont and Anderson were first team, but IMO Grimm should have been. He led the state in rushing, was held under 100 yards only ONCE and that was against Ashland in the 2nd round of the playoffs in a rematch of the regular season finale. He ran all over every team he faced including a 200+ yard performance in the state semi's against Cov Cath, the eventual state champion in 3A.

You're right, Paintsville wasn't anywhere close to last season, but Pugh shouldn't be overlooked because he lost 14 starters from the year before. He still had one hell of a season as a DB. He had double digits in tackles every game, numerous INT's, pass break-ups, forced fumbles etc.
#29
Congrats to all the boys.

Seriously though FBALL, how in the world could the boy from Shelby Valley make it and not Pugh.
