Are you serious. Now people down state will definitly think the 15th region is weak, as if we haven't heard it enough already. Its hard to believe that the defending 15th region champ loses to the last ranked team in the 6th region...this is unbelievable. But anyway good luck to JC in their next game.

Close one! Good luck to JC on the rest of the season though!

anyone got stats?

Jamie McCarty had 30 for JC. I listened to the game and from what Danny Johnson said JC has a lot of work to do in the weight room because they didn't seem to match Brown's physicality. JC had a 5 point lead with about 3 mins left but couldn't stop the big guy Williams inside. He ended up with 22 I think. I said in an earlier post JC had better come ready to play. Tonight I guess they left their game at home.

3 hours on a bus ride never does any team any good when it comes to their legs. I'm sure they will rebound nicely.

:dontthink The Eagles did not play well at times tonight, but they will be ok.It was a ugly loss with some very questionable calls by the refs. The bad calls did not lose them the game, but lack of crisp passes, lack of court vision by everybody that was on the floor for JC ,and mainly not executing on the offensive side of the ball.By the way Moe their in the 7th region because in their gym were hanging all A championship banners from the rafters!!! If your team can do any better call Browns coach and take them boys on down and see for yourself what can happen. It's statements like yours that do not do anything, but cause hard feelings between people!!! Listen, men just store that loss in your memories and move on and play your type of game.Hard nosed defense, share the ball and find the open man!!! If you do that you will see who will be going back to Rupp. GO EAGLES!!!!!!!:letsparty irateSho

I really hate to burst your bubble, but the Brown boys basketball team has never been to an All "A" Tournament. I looked it up, from the beginning of the 1990 All "A" Classic that was held in Rupp Arena up to last year. Maybe they were the Girl's team, who knows, but it most definately wasn't the boys. Christian Academy out of Louisville has be the traditional representative from the Kentuckiana area in the All "A" Classic. If you saw all of those banners maybe you played at their gymnasium tonight. Here is the link if you are curious about where I got my information.

Beth Haven won the 6th Region All A championship last year.
What do you mean when you say by "the lack of court vision" and the "failure to execute on offense"? Could you be more specific?
You also mentioned that in the future they should "share the ball". What do you mean by that as well?

Disappointing loss for JC!!
12-07-2006, 12:39 PM
It really doesn't matter now does it? JCHS lost their first game this season,I am sure it won't be the last. That is part of the game. The important thing is to move on and get focused on the next game which is really important. Not only is it a district match up, but it is an important game for Crum and the Eagles. They must play hard and not take for granted that S.C. is the weaker team. It will have to be a team effort not just a one man show!

I think that it makes twice in this thread now that that implication has been made.

Are there internal problems going on at JC????
12-07-2006, 01:19 PM
sounds like a good game...i think the loss of Rice has really hurt JC this year...but i hope to see them do well they have the talent idk whats going on down there in Johnson Co.

This is a really disappointing loss for Johnson Central.... and for the 15th region.

Care to elaborate on this comment? Like rooster has said, this now makes twice that this topic has been discussed. Fill all of us curious people in on this.

No matter what anyone on here says there are no internal problems at JC, I WOULD KNOW! JC is not a one man show but McCarty is a great player and maybe sometimes takes a few too many shots but he is shooting almost 60% this year. This was a tough loss for JC but maybe they needed a wake up call. They play a lot of young players and like Coach Starns said after the North Hardin game, with young players there will be games like this early, but come tournament time JC will be ready to defend their title.

You would think after going to the state tourney this program would be in much better shape. They struggled to get players out this year. Who know's what's wrong. Football school I guess and I've heard Starn's is a good coach but couldn't win a dog catcher election if the community voted for it.

I think the big thing about getting kids out this year is most (except Justin Blanton) finally figured out there weren't at the level of the other players on the team. Blanton would have started for JC and it's a loss they will have to take and move on, which they have. Kids these days are lazy and wrapped up in their boy or girlfriends. Starns is a good coach but IMO the community feels he is here to improve his own image so he can he can get a higher caliber job. Many including the players were upset that he applied for the Ashland job after just one season. With that said, Starns' is not running for an election. He is coaching the JC boys basketball team and doing a fine job at it. Until the roof falls off lets not speculate as to wether or not there is internal problems or if the coach is loved. We are 2 weeks into the season for crying out loud.

First of all I did not mean to imply ANYTHING! It does get easy sometimes to not make that extra pass or look for an open man and just take some shots for yourself. By the way,I do not mean that about anyone in particular either! From what I have watched of JCHS so far I think they have a good chemistry together. All of the boys on the team seem to have the same goal of winning.Sometimes you people try to read too much into something that another person has said and try to even twist words to try and start rumors. I fully support the EAGLES and to my knowledge there isn't any problems. I guess I better choose my words more carefully next time!!!!!!!!

Well said Eaglehoops. Starn's pretty much sealed his fate when he applied for the Ashland job. Who will be the next coach if Starn's leaves???

You have to ignore BrokenCard he hangs with the basketball coaches at JC and thinks that he knows something about basketball. So, what he sees I can guarantee is not his own thoughts but he must have heard someone else say it.

These last few posts are hilarious, lol, and probably true. I would say the talk about "one man show" is about McCarty, who else could it be, haven't seen anyone else score 38 or 30 points in a game. He must really want that 15th Region Player of the Year award.
