What stats sre you looking at for Patton??? What I saw had him for 10 points on 5/8 shooting. He did have one of the most impressive shots tonight, a sweet baby hook, that was killer! P-burg shot 6/12= 50% in 1Q - 4/18=22% 2Q (10/30 = 33% in the 1st H) 5/11 = 45% 3Q - 4/17 =24% 4Q (only 9/28 = 32% in the 2nd half) and 19/58 = 32.7% in the game!!! How can you have free throws for a team when you shoot from the outside to much. (8/25 from 3-ville)
STATS: P-Burg
HUGHES - 15 PTS
PATTON - 10
HALL - 9
VANCE - 7
CLARK - 3
STEPHENS - 2
SCORING
MC - 8 - 15 - 21 - 16 = 60

Must be an assistant football coach then, checking players out for Football. If its anything else, Pikeville will continue to stuggle in basketball!

voice, your points dont add up for Pburg. 46? I read the official book, I may have read it wrong.
25 to 5, you can try but you cant justify it. My hero dubwa W and Romeo

Prestonsburg can NEVER lose to Magoffin Co. It's in the Bible somewhere! For it is written, "Thou shall not ever lose to Magoffin Co. in any sport". FOr thine is Prestonsburg, my chosen people!

No, assistant basketball coach. I dont think any player on that floor tonight would turn Pikeville college around. Although, there are some good players at PC and they are doing better.

My bad, Vance had 9 pts that gives you 48.

With all of this 25-5 free throw stuff. As stated in the above post pburg shot 25 threes...last time i watched basketball game a lot of people do not get fouled when shooting threes. Magoffin took it to the basket, what you are suppose to do. Not sit out and shoot 25 threes. If Pburg would have took it to Magoffin instead of throwing up three after three then maybe they would have gotten to the line more. The refing was not nearly as bad as you say. Something i may question is the refs NEVER calling a over the back call.

Now you are beginning to understand...Just kidding.
Magoffin Co. won the game, they did what they had to do to win, congratulations to them!
My problem is not with Magoffin County, it is with two refs that consistantly lay the screws to Pburg no matter where the game is played.

Also if pikeville was there looking for talent from the patton kid, they sure must have been dissapointed. A guy that is easily 6'6 that can only score 12 points against a team who is lucky to have a guy that is around 6'3, and thats their guards. Not to impressive if you ask me.

I spoke with that man, you are referring to and he told me that Kelly was in Hazard scouting tonight. I don't want to say anyone is more deserving than another, but can't say I was impressed with particularly anyone from p-burg. That's not being unfair, I do think that Patton has some good qualities that can help a program and you can't coach size. If he can hit the weight I do beleive he can be an excellent player. Devin Rice is no joke people! He has great moves down low and hustle, if only his skills were in a body of a 6'5 or taller, watch out! Eric Arnett can shoot, but sometimes gets emotional to quick and it effects his judgement.

exactly. 3s generally take fouls out of the equation.

You have to get the ball to score. It appeared to me that he scored about everytime he got the ball after the first 4 minutes.

Even though your a Magoffin guy, your retarted if you say there wasn't bad officiating in tonights game. They might as well have played at Magoffin because there was no home court advantage for Prestonsburg. Jackie Day needs to have his team work on ball movement; launching up 3s wont win it for you.

Close to it, but he (Patton) went...
1/2 (1Q) - 1/1 (2Q) - 2/3 (3Q) - 1/2 (4Q) = 5/8 (Game)

Oh no, I heard that Pikeville was actually recruiting refs. They offered Dubwa W and Romeo a full ride.

Assuming you are correct, only 8 touches for Patton wont get it done. I bet that will change.

Come on people!!! Magoffin turned a bad 1st half into a dandy 2nd half. Look at the shooting.
14/22 for 64% in the 2nd half. Compare that with Prestonsburg shooting in the 2nd. 9/28 for 32%. P-burg had 9 TO in the 2nd, MC had 5 in the 2nd.

For Pburg to have any chance at doing anything this year he is going to have to shoot 20 shots a game.

Hey voice since you have the stats, how about the freethrow made and missed for both teams.

The thing I noticed on Patton is that he always turned to inside from 3/4 ft away. He never tried to go up and under or drive or put his shoulder down. If his game was Devin's in that body, Patton would be tough!

I have no ideal what that means. If Patton lowered his shoulder tonight they would have fouled him out before half.

P-burg was 2/5 in the game...3 of those went to Bobby Hughes who hit 2/3. The rest were M.Vance and he was 0/2.
MC was 15/25 on the night, and look at that compared to 3's only attempted 8 on the night, hitting 1 in the 3rd Q by PG Hunley. The Hornets drove to the basket all night, because P-burg extended their "D" and forced MC to the rim.

I just think that you need to quit rambling on about the refing. There is never a good called game in the 15th but this game wasn't near as bad as you are making it out to be. Pburg didnt take it to Magoffin, they decided to shoot threes instead...BOTTOM LINE!

Thanks for the info, only two players went to the line for Pburg for the whole game. I'm sorry but that is rediculous. I dont disagree with you commentary, but the freethrow stat is too big to accept as normal.

Instead of Patton taking one dribble and trying to back his smaller defender inside, he would feel the player on his hip and turn inside with a shot, from 3/4 ft away, he is and inside player with a height advantage! Where's the head fakes or something from the big guy. By the way you talk of officiating tonight, one play in the 2nd Q I beleive, had a P-burg player grab a MC players jersey and pull him down, and he tried to say he did nothing. The ref did call it, but what's the deal with that, Thuggish basketball was played tonight, and it backfired!

Only 2 players had the guts to go to the basket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The others stayed behind the arc!!!! When they had a chance to go to the rim MC had great "help D" tonight!!!
