Tolsia won the toss elected to defer until the second half. Wayne took the opening kick into Tolsia territory before having to punt. However on the punt that would have pinned Tolsia inside the 10 they had a substitution penalty giving the ball back to Wayne. Wayne then picked up another first down before scoring from about 30 yards out to make it 7-0. Tolsia proceeded to go three and out and then held Wayne before going three and out again. Tolsia could have made a mistake since they punted into the wind for the second time instead of letting the first qtr. clock run out and switching sides. The resulting punt went 13 yards and Wayne took over on the Rebels 35 yard line. Tolsia dropped Wayne for a couple of losses before BJ Evans picked a pass off giving Tolsia some life. Tolsia proceeded to march down field and on a 9 yard run by Evans they cut the lead to 7-6. Tolsia lined up to kick the PAT but Wayne was called for off sides so they took a timeout and changed to a 2-point conversion. Evans kept the ball up the middle and was stopped score was 7-6 with around 6 minutes to go in the half. Wayne came out and on the 1st or 2nd play of their drive they fumbled and gave Tolsia the ball back deep in Wayne territory. Tolsia went four and out giving Wayne back the ball. Wayne marched down field using their timeouts and keeping the drive alive to the 21 yard line. A 5 yard penalty moved the ball back to the 26 with 20 seconds to go they threw the ball to the end zone where it was caught and knocked away then by Tolsia with 9 seconds to go. Wayne had another 5 yard penalty and two incomplete passes to end the half leading 7-6 over Tolsia.

Tolsia comes out to start the second half with the ball pick up a 1st down then they get stopped and have to punt from their 34 yard line. A false start killed the drive. The punt went dead at the Wayne 36 yard line with just over 10 minutes to go in the 3rd Qtr with Wayne leading 7-6.
