I don't think they can compete with Pikeville either. I'm not saying they won't get better, but until it is proven (and 1-9 doesn't prove much) they are still a pretty bad football team. Now don't take that the wrong way because I hope they get better as I hope that for all teams that struggle to get better.

'01 team finished 6-5 or 5-6, but that's when I moved here so I don't really know a whole lot about the rest of the years. Last season they really weren't all that great either. I was making a remark about your statement regarding Pikeville never losing another district game there chief. As for their second team finishing 2-3....well I'd hope they could in the district that they are in. Who do they have to play??? Phelps, Allen Central, Betsy Layne...they should propbably win 3 games in all honest, shoot maybe 4 with on loss against Paintsville. I'm just glad the Panthers don't have to play the mighty Cavs of Jenkins, they'd lose a game every year in the district Rolleyes

I hope this is sarcasm. If it isn't then what criteria do you base this statement on. Jenkins beating Pikeville this year? Oh didn't happen. If Jenkins is so good then I expect to see them every year in the playoffs. Region championship to be exact. Will you be there Jenkins? I hope so.

I brought them up because a few fans from there felt that now since you are out of the district that Pikeville will never lose another game. Maybe they were talking about Hazard being out of the district too, but it sure didn't seem that way. There is no reason why Pikeville can't beat during the duration of these new districts by a team in their district...that's all I was trying to say. Also, I was bein' a little sarcastic and having fun...no big deal. Sometimes have to start stuff to get people excited about a thread....lol.

I don't think it will be Pikeville and Paintsville 1 and 2 year in and year out. I plan on slipping the Bobcats in there eventually. I know alot of people think that I am crazy, but I like the direction that the program at Betsy Layne is going.

Yeah I did graduate college with honors while majoring in Mathematics...so you could say i'm a genius, but for the Hazard/Pikeville game...wasn't there, I went to watch JC and Ashland. I'm not a Pikeville fan by no means, I live in Pike Co. yes...but I just like watching good football. I attended a school in Lexington and graduated from UK.

Anyway, back to the topic...Betsy Layne is on the rise, they have a decent head coach, but are light years away from competing with Paintsville and Pikeville.

I think they might have a shot at the playoffs next season, will have to beat Allen Central and/or Phelps....I think they can do it. Saw a middle school grid and they have some talent coming up in the next few years.

Well I was complimenting Pikeville and out of the blue you bring up Jenkins which MADE NO SENSE! So whenever you are ready to stop all of the nonsense posts I am as well. Coach B, just push your kids to the limits this offseason and get them believing! Set your goals right now in the weightroom! Say a winning record, playoffs, goals like that. Then go from there. Good Luck to all the teams next year!

Yeah it kinda does...name 3 people off the top of your head(not to post on here, just using that as a figure of speech....ok?) that graduates with honors taking, Calculus 1-4, Discrete Math, Linear Algebra, Abstract Algebra just to name a few. Anyway, I've been trying to get back to the topic originally, but you just want to keep flappin' your jaw. The reason I brought your team up is because of a dumbass remark you made about how Pikeville will "NEVER" lose another district game...I was being sarcastic but it's obvious you don't know what that is. As for a cookie, chocolate chip.

i dont kno why people dont think bl is competive they will give some teams a run for their money and pikeville,paintsville, and certinly shoulld have no room to talk down to besty layne. i bet bl will win more games than expected "so dont count your cickens b4 they hatch"...

I'm not trying to be negative just realistic. BL won't beat Pikeville anytime soon especially. I'll shake yoour hand as well wether it be win lose or draw. You weren't here when I played and never coached me. the greater knowledge thing throws me a little the way you worded it. It kinda sounds like you knew more about the game then than yoou do now. I doubt that. I'd say you have added to what you were taught in the early days. Best of luck to you and your team. Your posts are always classy and interesting to read, and sometimes they make me shake my head.

no problem coachb. i am still a young player at eastridge i played in the bl/er jv game this year, and bl had all the condifense in the world.to everybody who thinks bl is a pushover well i whould bet my house that for some teams bl,will win more games than expected.

Does anyone know where I can find rosters from this year on South Floyd, Allen Central, Phelps and Belfry. I need them for a scrap book I'm putting together. I do agree that BL, SF, AC, and Phelps will be in a dog fight with each other every game. Anything could happen with those 4 playing each other. Heck even Paintsville loses probably 90% of their offense with the graduation of Pugh. Unless they got some new kids coming out that can play.
