Tiki Barber's Career
#1
In 97 through 01, Barber only had one year with over 1000 yards rushing, including only 511, 166, and 158 yards in his first three years. All the sudden, in 02-03, he blew up, started pouring out thousand yard years with lots of touchdowns. Granted, he was used more on third down plays and out of the backfield as receiver in his first years, but even so, his receiving yards aren't too shabby now and he might even be averaging more yards a year since 02 than prior.

My point is, what happened to him? Did the coaches realize that if they start using him more, he'll produce big numbers? Or was it something personal? Anyone know??

I'm upset that more people haven't thrown in ideas, because I really would like some explanation

That's not it because he knows he has the top rushing yardage in the league and top 10 receiving yards for running backs

The problem I have with Tiki Barber: If he wants to retire, great for him. I understand if he wants to explore options other than football.... actually, I commend him for it.... but did he have to announce in October that he was going to retire? It sounds like an attention ploy to me...

He doesn't seem like the type of dude that does something like that for attention. Maybe he did it so his teammates and coaches wouldn't be surprised, or I was thinking maybe he did it so his teammates would know that they have to win it this year because he's such a big part of the offense
