I am not tring to make us look like a bunch of idiots. I just have alittle more faith in our team that you must. Belfry won big against us. That doesnt mean they will win this Friday night. If it did, we might as well not show up. There is a chance, even tthough alot think it is a very small chance, but we could still win. I have faith in my school, my team, maybe if more did we could actualy be a little better than what everyone thinks.

You will need a little faith to win.

Never!
Welcome to the best site in town! If you need anything, just let me know.

yes we get it, you all think Belfry id the greatest thing in the world.
10-29-2006, 09:58 PM
no you don't get it...Belfry is not the greatest thing in the world.that's ridiculous..but some of the comments in this thread by the Valley people are EVEN MORE ridiculous...nobody said Belfry was the greatest..but to say that Valley is going to beat them on Friday is like saying you are going to win the lottery every Wednesday and Saturday for the next two months...could happen...but the odds are astronomical..
10-29-2006, 10:00 PM
ah, you must be a Valley hater
10-29-2006, 10:16 PM
Alright guys and gals. Valley isn't going to beat Belfry, that's clear as day. Valley has a few seniors. John Johnson, Tyler Cable, Colby Newsome, Arron Damron, Chris Yates, and Steven Childers. Tyler Cable is injured and John isn't 100% for this game still. Valley isn't going to be having any miracle happen in the upcoming game, so please, Valley fans, I'm one of you too, but don't get on here and act like we're the best school in the world, having pride in your school is knowing when you're not the best, but you hold your head up like you are, not telling people lies like some are saying, as in Valley will beat Belfry, no, that hasn't happend and more than likely never will, sorry, but that's just the facts.
Shelby Valley - You all played great this year and really impressed me at times, on other occasions, you let me down a lot, but I still stand behind you all strongly and forever will, great season boys and can't wait for football to start up next year, now go get you some rest, play your heart out against the Pirates, and then hit the weight room. Very proud of you all! Good luck to both teams this Friday!

I don't see a bunch of Valley haters on hear. I see a bunch of realists. Shelby Valley has never beaten Belfry. What has changed to make you think that it will happen in the playoffs. Belfry is a team with a bunch of playoff experience and has proven themselves to be a worthy opponent. What has Shelby Valley accomplished in the past 5-6 years?

no one on here like SV, except for the SV people one here, because of the phelps game

This would be a good time to get that chip off of your shoulder. It's not that there is no one that likes Valley. There are a lot of people on here that understand football and realize that Belfry has handled them pretty well over the years.

You have that totally wrong, it's not Shelby Valley you all don't like..it's Saunders. How do the players have anything to do with how many points are scored on a down team? You make no sense, sorry, hate if you want to, but them boys worked hard and they earned the win, no matter what the score was, they couldn't just fall down when the play wasn't called that way. Go hate somewhere else!

Congrats to Belfry on the win, not a surprise but hopefully Valley will give em a closer game next week.
10-29-2006, 11:23 PM
I think this weeks game will be better all the way around, hopefully no rain.......and everyone will be pumped up to start playoffs! GO BELFRY........

[QUOTE=LovetheBucs]PF4ever,
I have seen Heath, and I think the kid has some ability. I cannot agree that he has a future (considering he will be a senior) at fullback. Heath is around 160 lbs if I had to guess. He has made some nice plays on special teams this year and I honestly think he could have contributed more at DB or safety. I think he can contribute next year at TB, and I also think Haywood will certainly be hoping for fierce competition at that spot.
I guess I am looking for the "next big thing" in Lovern, perhaps unfairly. He wears #7 (ala Matt Maynard) and all indications seem to paint him the cream of the Freshman crop. I noticed this past week that the 2nd team backfield included him, Varney, and Lee. If the staff has other plans for Hickman, then albeit for me to question that. I just think the young man looked strong (if you ignore his fumbles) in the opener.
YOU MAKE REALLY GOOD POINTS, AND YOUR RIGHT, WHEN ALL IS SAID AND DONE, THE COACHES WILL KNOW EXACTLY WERE TO PUT EACH BOY. I HAVE WATCHED THESE BOYS SINCE MIDDLE SCHOOL AND I REALLY THINK THAT HEATH COULD BE SOME KIND OF "SECRET WEAPON", I KNOW, SOUNDS RIDICULOUS, JUST COULDNT THINK OF A BETTER TERM... I KNOW HE DOESNT HAVE SIZE, BUT THEN LOOK AT G EPLING. HEATH: 5'6 156PDS / G: 5'7 146PDS. THEIR SPEED AS WELL AS STRENGTH IS COMPARIBLE TO ONE ANOTHER... DONT MEAN TO RAMBLE, JUST TRYING TO GET AN UNDERSTANDING OF NEXT YEAR.
HICKMAN IS A GOOD PLAYER AND WILL NO DOUBT BE GREAT NEXT SEASON.
LEE MAKES SOME GOOD PLAYS AS WELL, AND MAYBE ITS JUST ME, BUT AT TIMES, I SEE HIM HESITATE, AS IF HE IS UNSURE OF HIMSELF... HE DEFINATELY HAS THE MAKING OF A GREAT FOOT BALL PLAYER.
AS FAR AS LOVERN GOES, NO DOUBT HE WILL DO BIG THINGS, BUT HE'S GOT TO GET SOME SIZE ON HIM. 5'9 129. IM SURE THEIR WORKING ON THAT.
WELL ONE THINGS FOR SURE, THEY GOT SOME BIG SHOES TO FILL, AND IM CONFIDENT THAT NEXT YEAR WILL BE GREAT!

Its just routine. Shelby Valley changes coaches every year because none of the parents over there are ever pleased.

Nope, a player got cussed out, or what i was told, and he didn't like it, so he quit, and this meant his brother had to quit, so his parents got upset about it and they have taken it to the BOE, so who knows what is going to happen, but I say noones job is at stake here..just a player upset over being yelled at.

From what I have heard coach was yelling at him for something. He said he didn't do it. Coach said I seen you. Coach asked him if he wanted to play at half time and he said NO. Which prompted the rest of the team to jump up and say get ur stuff and get out. I was standing beside the locker room at half time. I seen him walk out. I talked to Brock Kinney after the half, and Tyler Cable after the half. One brother was forced to quit, by his parents. And, dont tell me I don't know what happened I was standing right there. I seen the one brother walk outta the locker room with the team and his parents make him take his pads off and he cried. Both Kinney and Cable have said Saunders is the best coach they have ever had. I have heard that from many players and that they love him. He is a great coach and I hope he continues to be a great valley coach.
Ive been cussed out many times. Never once thoguht about quitting on my team. And when my parents seen it they were like well you probly deserved it. And I agree it made me a better person taught me some discipline. I would give anything for one season under Saunders. And most former Valley players I have talked to would agree. My brother played under Sercy(sp?), Greg Newsome, Darel Burke, Greg Napier either as a head coach or as an asistant and he said he woulda loved to have Saunders as a coach.

well theres a way to get your point across without using language with
a player.. coaches are to set examples..
a player.. coaches are to set examples..

I dont really think there is anything wrong with a coach cussing at the team. For example telling the team that they need to get their a$$ in gear or something. I do not think a coach should cuss a player. Coaches are in a position of authority and they should not pick one person to cuss in front of the other players. Should a coach be allowed to jump on to one player? Yes. That is what it takes to get some players to play the way they are either supposed to, or have played in the past. Jumping on them and cussing them is two different things. Do you think Saunders would want to get cussed at by his boss in front of the other teachers and coaches when he cant really say anything back? If you are a coach or a boss, you should treat the people you have control over the same way you want to be treated yourself.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It is the size of the fight in the dog.

I hope they fire Saunders. He needs to leave the state. I've heard they will just run him off anyway. Total lack of any class or character.
