The student body president even admitted it was a bunch of students before the game. And that comment made about the RB was probably one of the worst things I've ever seen on one of those papers, and it was totally uncalled for. So I'm glad he done well that night. You may have left early then, because when I decided to call it a night the majority of them were still out there. Wasn't JK sidelined in that South Point game late because he got injured? I believe it was. Thats the only reason the starting QB wasn't in there. I wouldn't call having around 8 O starters and your whole D, after you got a commanding lead, still in the game taking it easy on anyone that many JC posters on here say you all do.
JK was not injured late in the game, he was injured in the 2nd quarter, went to the hospital with Dr. Jason Rice and was back on the sideline midway through the 4th quarter. I do not have to take anyones word about this. I was standing on the track that surrounds the field during this game. People need to know the facts before they speak. Of course if speaking the facts were a requirement, half of the guys on this site would be out of luck.

My favorite to watch is Shawn Grim (of course) and I'm afraid I haven't seen enough of the tomcats this year to pick any one player. Who knows though, maybe some kid that rarely gets to play will shock us all...it is senior night after all....wilder things have happened!
Is it just me or is it taking forever for Friday to get here?!

Key questions: Will Ashland be able to stop the fast JC backs? Will JC's pass D be able to stop Ashland? Can't wait to see! This sure is a slow week!
10-17-2006, 11:46 PM
The tarps on the feild consist of one large 50 yard tarp and about 5 or 6 smaller ones for the rest of the field. More tarps were goin to be ordered but wouldn't have made it here in time to cover the field from the rain. Can't wait until next year when JC won't have to tarp the field due to the new football facility!!

When they build the new field what will the surface be??

I personally think JC will run away with this one too!!

Here is how it is from a fan not from nei:thumpsup: ther school.Johnson central has a physically stronger team and just as fast as Ashland.Central to me is a clear favorite BUT Ashland has a good team too with experience and a good coach and if they have a good game plan and dont turn the ball over and Central does turn the ball over,,the Tomcats could pull the upset. After reading all the posts last week between Belfry and Sheldon Clark the fans from Belfry didnt give the Cards a chance.Well you all know how that turned out.I canged my mind again Johnson Central 28 Ashland 14:thumpsup:

Well last year all of the away games were a lot closer and against bigger "rivals." Last year our only road games were against Russell, Greenup, Lawrence, and Boyd. I don't recall them traveling to Lawrence, but I may be wrong.
This year we've had to go to Portsmouth West, Prestonsburg, Mason County, and Johnson Central. All of these games are much further away. Also, the 1st 3 of which are in no way considered "big games." JC will be the 1st big road game this season. I hope the band does make the trip, but there's not going to be much room at the stadium as it is.

Yes. Arliss played at Johnson Central in the season opener in 2001 during his senior season. Arliss rushed for 303 yards on 13 carries. It still sets as the 4th most yards by an Ashland back in one game. At the time, it was #2. He broke that mark twice later that season.
Arliss still didn't win player of the game despite his efforts. Josh Duley came up with 3 interceptions and was named the MVP for the game.

That's the truth. West and Wright were a dynamic combo that was near impossible to stop.
BTW, saw a #4 named Michael West playing for LC this past week. Any relation?

I know that this tread is about the Ashland JC game, but in reference to the JC-Paintsville series.......I'm sure it will continue. That game is a huge money maker for both school, especially Paintsville. At $5.00 a head and 5000 people, thats $25,000.00 divided by 2 is $12,500.00 per school. Not a bad payday at all. Both schools would be crazy to stop this, Paintsville more so because Central has been drawing those crowds for most all games.
