Shelby Valley Girls

Something I really liked seeing on their schedule for this year is that they are playing Rose Hill, this will help BIG time with getting ready for region this year. I think Valley could possibly win region this year, they have a really good team and are VERY fast paced.

Why schedule someone like that? Are they not in the all a classic?

Why wouldn't you schedule the defending state runners up if you could?

The 15th Region All A is a nice tournament, but a game with Rose Hill is one heck of an opportunity. Playing the states best helped SV's softball team capture the last two 15th Region softball titles...perhaps playing one of the best basketball teams in the state can get SV ready for Magoffin, Pike Central, Johnson Central and Belfry.

Valley is very talented but the region title is out of their reach at this point, they could be there by seasons end. As for scheduling Rose Hill I think it always is good for your team to play a quality opponent.

Shelby Valley needs to not even think about the region and worry about getting out of the district. Who is coaching them now?

I would schedule some tough teams, but I wouldn't schedule a team I couldn't compete with. Now if I had a team like Maggoffin and Letcher then that would be different!

I hear they have a couple of old football coaches working with them, so everybody might want to work on their freethrows. :howdy:

To build a program you have to take some lumps from the best programs. SV has one of the toughest schedule in the 15th. A coach has to be careful to not bring down the teams winning outlook for the the season. You never want a team to get use to loosing. There has to be a balance to continue to get better for March Madness!!!!!!!!
