Russell beats a stingy team in West Carter tonight to jump to the front of the district.......

5 TD's in a game ties Gross in that Lewis Co. game a few years back does it not:champ:

It does not. Gross had 6 TDs in that game. It ties him with about 5 others that have had 5. Thats back to back 5 TD games for Clark. It would not be a suprise if he does tie the record in the coming weeks.

I say that he gets 7 on senior night................ and gets rid of the old record..........

Clark is good no doubt. He is getting all this against mediocre comp. I'm not trying to step on toes here but it's the truth. He could have 10 td's if they played Estill or somebody like that on senior night.LOL. Now before we get all out of whack here I still say Russell can get back to the carpet and I did say Clark was very good. The district is so weak, There won't be a test at all. No proving game at all. Now you know this is by far the weakest the district has ever been. Belfry opened up with Newport Cath, and is in a district with Sheldon Clark and Pburg. Neither is championship teams but are better by far than anyone in Russell's district. Both played Ashland. All season long until Belfry, Russell has played 1 good team. That might haunt them.

I think Clark and the rest of the team has already proven they can produce against quality teams as well. Ask Mercer, Belfry and OCath.

I,m sorry I knew it was 6...and for him to beat it I dont know,he is in the same boat Gross was in,playing mostly 2 quarters a game.Either one of them could have had 10 or 12 a game.McGlone is too classy to let that happen:devilflam

Russell is very good, Clark is very good. The way it's set up they will have to play 2 dist. opponets from a very weak district for the first 2 rounds. I know it's the same district but Morgan and Flemming were pretty good last year. Newport just beat Flemming 15-13 in the first round.

I agree that Russell's road should be fairly easy until the 3rd round of the playoffs from here on out. Projected from there, they should be playing Corbin for the Region, Belfry for the state semis, and Western/Mercer for the state title, if they get that far.

Did Corbin actually do that well..??? Who will win there district.....

Corbin should win they're district fairly easily. I believe the only other teams in their district are Wayne, Casey, and Garrard Counties.
Corbin sits at 2-5 with losses to Rockcastle (0-2), Bell County (17-14), South Laurel (who's most noted game is a 53-6 loss to Mercer County) (21-20), Oldham County (20-34), and Middlesboro (A very, very good and underrated AA team) (42-62).
They have wins over Pulaski County (49-26) and LCA (20-7)
With several breaks, they could 5-2 with wins over Rockcastle and Bell which would be a great accomplishment. I don't think they're good enough to beat Russell, unless they're overlooked. It should be a good warmup for Russell to get ready for their trip to Pond Creek.
