No idea man, I don't have a schedule handy to look at. Could it be Union  .

I know they play at Shorter on the 8th of October.

From the looks of it, the Bears might not win a game. As bad as I hate to say it considerin I got a whole bunch of buddies playin, it just doesn't look too good as of right now.

I am gonna make an early prediction about the conference. Shorter College in only it's second year of having a football program, will win the conference. And yes that means they will beat Georgetown and everyone else in the conference if they keep playing the way they have these first few games, they knocked off Univ. of Cumberlands yesterday fairly easy.

When you say Shorter College, who are you talking about? Because if they have to be in Georgetown's conference, they have to be in Unions, and I don't see them on our schedule.

Shorter College is a rather new school, they just started their program I think 2 years ago. They are out of Rome GA, they are 4-0 on the season and just manhandled University of the Cumberlands yesterday at Cumberland.

This is Shorters second season having a football team, last year was their first and was pretty impressive. BC75, Shorter is in the same division, but they split their games between the two. They played UC this past week, they play Campbellsville, Pikeville and UVA Wise, then they are playing Lambuth, Bethel and someone else. They don't play G-Town this year so disregaurd my comment about that. IDK what the deal is, I know they were in Pikeville's last year.

I asked someone about this today and someone said they went into the other mid south conference this year and we picked up west virgina tech to replace them or something like that.

That sounds right to me, IDK why a team from Georgia would be in the North division anyways, lol. They should still win the South division though.

Hmm, that's kinda wierd, you would think that it would be North and South. Thanks for the correction fox sports.

i heard that the new head coach ,didnt want Howard this year

millertime Wrote:i heard that the new head coach ,didnt want Howard this year

Wouldn't suprise me none, he really doesn't care too much about the local talent just like every other coach up there. Howard had to sit last year due to a back injury, but the first couple of games up there he played solid.

This is untrue.
I talked to the coach myself, He wanted Doug Howard Very Badly.
Doug Howard would have been the premiere back for Coach Bryan.

Shew I'm glad they don't have him. lol

I spoke with Doug's father, Doug Sr., and Mr. Howard told me that Coach Bryan called their house and talked to both Doug and himself.

Mr. Howard asked Coach Bryan if Doug could have the same financial liberties he had as a freshman and Coach Bryan told him he would get back to him on that. A couple of weeks later he called back and told Mr. Howard that Doug Howard Jr. wouldn't receive even half of what he got as a freshman.

Needless to say they told Coach Bryan to take a hike, and Coach Bryan told you a lie.

Then that is ridiculous. Why waste money on kids who are nowhere near as good as Doug who won't even make it 2 semesters. That's the problem up there, they give these out of state boys all this money that turns out to be a waste of time and money.

I'm starting to feel like the administration at PC is to blame.

The football coaches they hire choose to do nothing but recruit, or give scholarships to players whose eligibility has run out elsewhere. Or their grades have faltered at a bigger school.

And it seems all of them are from S.C. Now, I'm no Rocker Scientist, but lets do some math. South Carolina is much more populated than Kentcuky, and I'd be willing to bet they have more NAIA schools competing in football. Now, why in the hell would these kids be coming to school in EKY if they were good enough to play at even the same level in S.C.?

Either they are trouble, or they aren't that good anyway.

Let me get to the point.......Pikeville College would have about the same record they have had since their existence if they just recruited in a 100 mile radius. Point blank, bottom line. And the sad part is, if they do this they would have a much better fan base, the school would make more money, and I wouldn't have to read about bozos from S.C. getting second and third offense arrests.

I could care less about Pikeville College, their past & former coaches, and those that hired the coaches. Until they get somebody in there with common sense to go with football knowledge they will continue to be a less than a mediocre program.

That looks bad on the city of pikeville. All of the thugs in town...All alot more of people would come to the games

PHSCARD Wrote:Pikeville looked shakey at times today. I look for English to turn the starting QB spot over to Brethitt Co.'s Jacob Hundley. He was very impressive today and the team just seemed to gel a lot better when he was in the game....the Bears won 40-30 by the way
I heard hundley tore his acl in the game against union. anyone else hear that

Why not Hillard Howard, Jim Matney or Mike Holcomb??? There are so many great high school coaches in the area that could do so much better IMO. If Pikeville recruited within a 100 mile radius they would be just as good, I agree Mr.Right. Look at last year and this year, the best reciever on the team both years is from EKY. Nick Jamerson (Pburg) last year and Justin Lamb (Breathitt County) this year, not to mention Lamb had a better season than the "thugs" last year too. The O-line was mostly EKY boys, Jesse Peck (JC), Brad Allen (Breathitt County), Josh Hundley (Whitley County), Ryan Jarrell (Paintsville). Brad Allen is the ONLY EKY boy on the O-line this year. Matt Brown (Paintsville) and Nathan Moore (Sheldon Clark) both started at LB. Josh Cullop (Belfry) got ALOT of playing time at DL, Matt Slone (Grundy) started DE. Now Pikeville has Ryan Brown (Paintsville) starting DL, Jake Hundley (Breathitt County) starting QB, (tore ACL or MCL thsi past weekend). Pikeville could have a solid program with players in a 100 mile radius.

If Pikeville would just keep a promise about money to many of the local boys I'm sure a lot of them would've stayed. They do give it to the bozos from out of state, and I'm not trying to be racist by any means, but a lot of the coaches up there think that only black players can rule the roost. EKY has just as good athletes for this level as any part of NC or SC or wherever the Suge Knights come from. The mountain boys is why the program was established, other than their innagural year, they have faded away from that.
