The question was true state champion contender.
IMO, Johnson Central is not ready for Highlands, Cov Cath, or even Franklin Co...they may be the best in the mountains but not yet a true STATE contender.

If you have seen Mercer Co. than you might change your tune. Of course I may be wrong as well but I don't see anyone in 2A beating Mercer. I hope that either team gets the chance though. I am all about those mountain teams winning!!!

Yea I watch their scrimmage against danville and dressed at least 100 with the freshmen playin on the other side of the hill... very nice team in 2A

Pikeville can get to the semis, but after that I do not know. Beechwood looks to be the class again in that area, but I here they have gone back to a more power oriented offense.

Russell and Belfry will battle it out on this end, but Middlesboro might surprise.

Johnson Central I think has the best team on this end of the state, but I do not know if they can compete with the N KY bunch.

I guess we will see as the season goes on.

Russell and Belfrey as AA contenders. I'll also go with MERGER Co. winning it all. The only reason I will do that is because all I heard last year was Ft. Cambell and then I started thinking Ft. Cambell also. Then Ft. Cambell ended up watching the State Championship Game............Go Devils!!!!!

I thought you would see it my way big "D". FBALL is just trying to pull one over on you. A few more things about Russell centers.

1. They never jump off sides.
   
2. The team would not be able to huddle if it wasn't for the center calling one.
   
3. The quarterback only has to tell us the play one time in the huddle. He has to tell everyone else twice.

I heard that two kids from Mercer run 4.3's electric timed, is that true??? If it is, I gurantee you'll see them sign with D-1 schools if they haven't yet...
