irateSho i think powell has a good chance if the participation rate goes up but even if you get more people coming out if they dont have the heart to play then having up does no good because what powell co needs is some boys out there with the heart and determination to win or atleast lead

You only play 11 at a time. I'd take 20 dedicated, hard workers day in and day out then 40 guys who dont come to practice half the time. Winning is what gets you numbers. Russell is a bad dream in their district. Powell still has 3 games they could have a shot possibly sorry to say this week aint one of them. I know it's bad to say but Id take the next 2 weeks to get ready for Morgan.

first of all i dont even see morgan coming close to making playoffs take them out and put west in then u may be correct....

Agree they are on their 8th QB since last season...injuries. Many out for the season. Here is a list:
Andy Fannin--QB--Rotator Cuff surgery (Done before season started)
Logan May--QB--Illness (Done after 1st game)
Ryan Buckler--C--Illness that caused some heart ailments; got better; hurt shoulder--is week to week
Brandon Ward--FB--promising Sophomore and LB (Shoulder)---Doubtful
Derrick Young--FB--1,000+rushes last season, leg, shoulder and possible hernia--out indefinitely, should be re-evaluated this week
Wes Montgomery--Slot/CS--Cougars most athletic playmaker; leg injury vs. Mason....should be back by West Carter
Clay Adkins--Tackle, backup Center to Buckler and DE---Achilles--Treatments from P.T. this week should get him ready to go for Sorghum Bowl
Jonathan Lopez--Sophomore Corner/Punter--Broke hand on Monday of this past week
Just don't see them making the playoffs this year.

Im from Morgan and if the cougars get a solid fb back, Whether it be Derrick or Brandon Ward with the system they have I believe a 4 spot is possible in the playoffs as well.John Henderson the qb is the best athelete on the field for the cougars and against weaker comp. You wont catch him. Morgam has played some pretty good team also like mason co, bath which could be the best bath team in a long time. The qb Henderson broke a couple of big runs on Russell too. I believe morgan can be dangerous if they get 1 of their fb's back. oh and by the way, coach M you need to be more worried about yourself and other things than with me at the moment.

I back coach Jones all the way, He's a good coach and friend. But I think the info posted on here isn't compltely right. I just talked to a former players dad who is good friends with coach Wood and the only definate loss was Fannin, Look for Ward to be back this week and Young possibly in the next 2 weeks is what I was told. This info is bogus because Logan May played against Mason and Russell as well. You shouldnt be on here posting stuff you dont know and by you saying Logan May was done after first game you really dont know. Only one of the above listed wont return. I believe and was told some of the starters were a little banged up and injured but could have played against Russell but coach didnt want them injured anymore in a game he knew he couldnt win so he saved them for the rest of the seasn to make the playoffs. Morgan if healthy will beat West Carter. Were talking about a Morgan team if healthy that was picked to finish 2nd in the district.The injured info post is kind of accurate but 90% of these guys are comming back ths week.

Once again this is no insult towards coach Jones in any way but West hasnt impressed me. They barely beat Lewis co. 34-30, Lewis is 0-for and hasnt won a game.
They lost to Rowan after losing a 16-0 lead and Rowan isnt that good I would say avg. at best. West c didnt blow Nichalos away either. Don't start saying West in the playoffs just because they scored 61 on Powell. I feel Powell wasn't that much worse than west and a mental let down by the seniors and the team accounted for the 61 scored. West had barely beat a couple of teams that hadnt won a game. I dont see West C in the playoffs and the only other district win they will get will be estill.
I still think Powell can possibly beat Lewis and Estill and I hope for Coach J they do.

Just got off the phone with bull he says Buckler Ward and Montgomery will play Friday and Young next Friday but a possibility this Friday. You all are saying Morgan is awefull but as many kids that are out for them they havent had a chance. You are judging a team that has had over 50% of their O injured. Thes guys come back and I think coach Woods has set the rest of the district up for a big surprise. Alot of you was saying how bad west was also until after friday. I wont garuntee nothing unlike some but if a healthy morgan or even a semi healthy morgan shows up friday they beat west.
