The Bath County Wildcats improved to 4-0 last night after beating the Fairview Eagles 26 to nilch at Fairview. Wayne Stevens had 93 yards and a score, Blandon Clemons had 97 yards and a score, and Zak Metz had 1 rushing touchdown and a passing touchdown to Justin Mitchell. The stingy wildcat defense allowed just 106 yards of total offense and gave Fairview their 3rd loss of the season(2-3). Congratulations to the turn around in Bath County and good luck to both teams for the rest of the season.

Congrats to Bath County. When was the last time that Bath County had a team that seemed this good?

I believe the last time bath was on a 4-0 streak was in 96 when they won 6 games in a row, but i am not totally for sure. They havent went to the playoffs since 98 i think.

Even if Fairview and the other teams are done, doesn't that mean that Bath co. is just one of the best in their conference and district? I mean they held one of the best passers in the district to 20 yards through the air and held the entire defense to 106 yards. Fairview didn't even get within 30 yards of their end zone. That is a quality defense in my opinion. Even against a less then par team, they still usually get within the red zone.

Is Wayne Stevens the real deal or what, not to take anything away from the team but Bath has not been that good in a while and then he transfers to Bath from Rowan and they are undefeated, that must really tell you how much of an impact player he is.

one man does not make a team......... or does he???

Wayne is a pretty talented player, but Coach Reed Fields has been working with these guys so much, that they cant help but field a decent squad. he has them in better shape then they have been in the past and has them showing pride and heart each and every game. I commend him on his effort. Stevens has helped, but with the maturation of Metz at QB(sophmore) and Clemons coming out this year(junior) the wildcats have shown a new leaf. Pretty exciting in Owingsville right now.

Wayne has had a few good games this year, but Bath's success is really an all around effort. The defense is one of the best around, the offensive line is improved, you got thunder & lightning in Clemons and Stevens, and now that Justin Mitchell is healthy, Zak Metz has a good go to reciever. They are also better conditioned then the teams they've played so far this year.
