Raceland/Belfry Scrimmage 8th grade
Raceland 2 scores
Belfry 0
Belfry/Raceland 7th grade
Belfry 1 scores
Raceland 0
In a full game Raceland beats Belfry pretty easily, imo. Belfry has a really, REALLY good 8th grade lineman and some solid skill kids and I’m sure by the time they are all JRs they will have it figured out.

Letcher central scrimmage Hazard yesterday and won 36-6. It could have been way worse but Letcher played there bench whole 2nd half. Was really surprised how down Hazard is.

but to the point of playing their bench the whole second half??? pretty sure they threw a pass to probably one of the best players in the mountains on the last play of the game and Hazard is not the same team they have had the last 3 or 4 years and is a work in progress, Hazard turned the ball over the second play of the game and despite that is was only 13-0 at half, Hazard will be fine.
Good Luck to both teams

not sure of his name, but he had on #50 in the scrimmage. Both on OL and DL he looked really good. Looked to be around 5’9-6’ and about 240/250 moved really well.
Any private or eagle fans that can give me any type of idea on what the expectations are of those two teams this year?

JC and Raceland both should be contenders in Ky. by seasons end. Raceland will take on a surprisingly good West Carter team on Saturday. Super physical team with some hard nosed players. Lucas Tackett is a stand out EKY lineman with FBU experience along with ATH Jordan Barker. Both are big factors in the match up with the Rams. Raceland has a lot of kids with big game experience, with RB Easton Kelly, QB Bentley Rambo having FBU experience as well as playoff runs the last two years that fell just short in regional title games. Special teams is another strong suit for the Rams with K/ATH Jackson Waller and WR/KR Caleb Lamb. Raceland is big and strong upfront and has a ton of skill. Depth is the only thing they are really lacking. JC has the same issue. They have huge potential, but staying healthy will be key. They, like Raceland are a few injuries away from going from Contenders in their divisions, to solid teams.

excellent day of football. Both teams fought hard, dealing with heat, roster sizes and early season miscues.
the 8th grade game was one of the best MS games I’ve watched. Raceland is very skilled with an excellent offensive line. As for West Carter, that team has a tone of heart to come battle back and win that game.

Raceland was without Kelly and had two kids playing through some injuries as well. Was a great battle in the trenches for sure.

Pikeville open their season today with a win over a team out of Virginia 18 to 14
08-17-2025, 12:02 AM
Pikeville has a lot of work to do. In other news, I wish Raceland would win every football game so we don't have to hear all the excuses. 3 losses this weekend and every excuse but the sun got in their eyes lol...

No excuses here…Wburg whipped us on Friday in every aspect. West 7th dominated our 7th. And West 8th made the plays it took to win the game. Just stating that Raceland wasn’t at 100% yet from a health standpoint. Even if we had held on to win…we still have a lot to address and fix defensively until Kelly gets back on the field and gotta learn to take advantage of what the defense gives us offensively. Like I said, WC made the plays to win the game and we couldn’t stop the run consistently enough to keep them from the end zone on the final drive. But we left points off the board that were there for the taking. If we want to get to where we think we can with this group, that’s gotta be fixed

I would like to find a way to have reasons for things going wrong or losing, like Pikeville does when they have obstacles. Everyone else has excuses…but Pikeville seems to have reasons. I’d love to figure that out.

Bad
Our guys' minds weren't in the game
They wanted to be somewhere else
The other team treated it like a game and we treated it like a scrimmage
We rotated and they didn't
We had a guy hurt
Good
We have to work on ___________
We have to get better
And maybe, just once..........THEY WERE BETTER

lol wouldn’t have it any other way! We all know Pikeville gets a pass though. As long as you say Hail Pikeville or have request someone to bring a large sack of money to the game…nothing else that’s said matters.
In other news…what does Hazard bring to the table this year at the 8th grade level?

Sack of money is trolling, constant excuses is something much different...I hope Raceland feels like playing Ashland Friday because we all know if they lose it will be because their minds were somewhere else lol...
Hehe just messing with you Scotty. BTW please bring a huge sack of money 9/5.

They are gonna be down compared to the past 2/3 years. But they will have some good athletes. They did just best Betsy Layne in there opening season game. I’m not sure of the score. They are gonna make you work and stop them and they are gonna eat clock up. I believe they are also a little low in numbers this year too.
