The Turf Is Being Put Down!

Today the turf at Shelby Valley started getting layed down, can't wait to see it when they play Midland Trail next friday, I was told there will be a huge SV in the middle of the field.

I was over at valley today, and i saw them starting to lay it...but i think they got rained out. Cause it came down hard today.

I went by there today and alot of progress is being done...this is gonna be one of the best fields when it is done....the endzone is blue and there is gonna be a big SV in the middle of it.

Was over at Valley today drove by before I wnet to the p-burg n pville game. And I have to say is wow!!!!!!! The field looks great the endzones are blue and every one said its gonan be a big SV at the middle of the field I have heard it was gonan be the Kstate Wildcat they have on there helmets this year. Which by theway is my avatar!. But the field is looking great the new uniforms they got last year look aweosme, a new scored board and sound system would be completely awesome something we really need. The turf is not like Belfrys and Pville being with the rubber. It looks like carpet. Saunders is a great coach. Wish I could had him for a coach. Hurts my feelings 2 years after i graduate we get turf and kick ass uniforms lol.

im hearing that ERHS is supposed to get turf next year, not for certain though. I remeber someone talkin about it last year.

Don't you love how some Pike County teams get everything while others get nothing? Other sports are cut funding for fields, etc while the big schools in the county get turf put down..... do the same thing for EVERY county school or don't do it for any! Just my opinion!

Don't blame the school system, blame the community.

The Pike Co school board is not paying for turf at these schools...it is being paid for with private donations and sponsorships.

Yep... with the help of our state representative WHO BTW resides in Phelps!!! Kudo's for all the hard work in getting the turf!! I think what was meant by the earlier post was if it takes 5 years for our "coal severance" money to be put to use then put it to use by giving EACH school the same thing! I hope they enjoy it!!! and congrats again on "steppin" up in the football world!!!

From what I have heard, there is to be turf laid for the next 3 years at different area schools each year. ER is next, the PC, and Phelps.... of course... this is all hearsay so don't quote me!!! LOLOL....

Two Color Blue, that is the word on the street..... I'm just saying, for example, their is at least one school in the county that has next to nothing field wise while the rest are getting this magnificent turf.... makes you wonder!
