Final from Jackson.
Breathitt 6. 13. 1
Wolfe 1. 8. 1
Breathitt starts an 8th grader then brings a lefty in followed by Howard.
Howard with a 3 run tank in the 3rd inning.
Wolfe starts Hollon and brings Whisman in to finish.
Gonna make a tough draw for anyone. Wolfe pitching has to turn to make a run.

Can’t speak on all season but I can speak for tonight and when they played us a few weeks ago. Pitch calling for Wolfe is terrible.

I still think it comes to offense production too. If you get 8 hits you should score 3-4 runs. Manufacture 1-2 runs off that. Wasn’t over powered by velo early.
Wolfe’s hitters for 3 years have big leg kicks and try and tie the game with one swing. Plate discipline and adjustments aren’t the strongest. Can only imagine pitching means the same too. Especially with no real guidance for the mound.
But I assume this is there best option in Campton or only one who will take it?

Breathitt is a scary team for one game. They used all the bullets to win tonight, which is the same thing they can do come region time.

Breathitt hit the ball well tonight. To start a 7th grader in a district championship game to pitch would have had me worried but it seemed like Coach Combs knew how to attack them and play them defensively. This Breathitt team will be exciting to watch for the next 4-5 years.

Is this 7 in a row for Breathitt?

8 I believe. Breathitt has ran the district. Baseball has been took much more serious since late 2010s and carried through until now.
I find it humorous as well because I recall some parents at the district tournament from last year making the remark "Anyone can come in and coach this team (Wolfe) and win the district and region tournament."
I hate that for those Wolfe kids, some never winning a district tournament. But that team felt like everyone was going to lay down and give them the season because it was there time.

Keys to the game..
1. Wolfe didn't hit..... Hitters gotta hit
2. The HR right after a blown call by umpires that allowed Combs to be safe at 1st. Watch it over, the kid runs a mile outside of base path to avoid the tag. Would have been the 3rd out. Then for some reason they pitch one in the zone to Howard... Big momentum swing.

Always someone to blame, first it was they’re young, then the head coach, now it’s pitch calling. What will it be next?
Thought Whisman was supposed to be the real deal on the mound. Why not start him?

Take that away, Wolfe still loses at least 3-1. You can't take away the fact that Breathitt just outplayed Wolfe point blank. Wolfe left several runners stranded on bases. Wolfe's bats have cooled way off the second half of the season. Wolfe wasn't hitting last night and not one single time did the hitters change their approach. To me, that 100% falls on coaching. Pitch calling was bad again last night and has been sketchy all season long. Wolfe has arguably the best pitching rotation in the region, but the lack of correct pitch calling is not helping their case. Time for someone else to call pitches

Statistically Whisman is the best arm. But all the boys throw 4 seam flat fastballs. Anyone will catch up to speed once you see it enough. I'm not sure why they didn't throw Whisman but Hollon has been their big game arm it seems like.
