Good lord…when we play Paris this year with McPeek being there our boys will be competing with 25 year olds. The cheat McPeek back in class a football…..here we go again haha

I am not sure what that suff is about.  Can anyone tell me the basics?

Dane Damron is a good hire, good coach with lots of experience. McPeek also has a lot of experience, but has a serious history of rule breaking and shady tactics.

The Raceland posters on here are referring to when he was at Fairview in late 2000's/early 2010's and them doing a lot of recruitment/bringing in transfers, eventually landing them in trouble with the KHSAA. They ended up having to forfeit all of their 2012 games and some of 2013's.

Had not heard of any of this. Was this back when Fairview won the state championship?  Thanks.

I have no idea about any other coaches. And yes this was when Fairview went to the state finals in 2012 (they did not win). They later had to forfeit all their games that year.

Fairview never won the state championship. They reached the title game and lost big to Mayfield. If I am remembering correctly, the year they reached the finals was forfeited and much of the next season also.

Everyone from Raceland always talks about recruiting when their stealing their old coaches players from Russell next door lol but again Fairview only made a mistake enrolling a kid from alternative school with more credits than they knew further more that was it!!
Mcpeek is just a winner everywhere he goes he wins! He put together Fredrick Douglas program to where they won a State Championship I think in their 5th season. If I was you Raceland posters I would be more worried about not winning a State Championship when you could have now your not going to be able to get past Paris!! Lol

All sounds good, but we ain't in Kansas any more. They're going to have to go get kids from areas that kids don't traditionally leave from or from Lexington and Georgetown where everyone else in Central Kentucky looks for kids.

What McPeek and his nephew did at Fairview everyone is doing today to get the kids eligible, so his ability to get kids eligible isn't his value to this staff. Coach Rice and his staff were able to get kids to Paris because they coached them throughout PeeWee and Middle School, but Paris isn't a traditionally Transfer heavy school. I was told there were only 3-4 football players from the city of Paris that were on the team last year that stayed. Their 8th grade team was evidently all 7th graders ..... so just crunching numbers you are looking at needing 7 transfers just to field a team. Probably 15 to win a game or 2, and probably 25 to be competitive. I ain't saying its not possible, I'm saying its just very unlikely that they can win in the near future. Hopefully Damrod stays the course, because I'm thinking this is a 3-4 year process at the earliest.........

The rest of the Jealously rams just got their butts beat every year he was there couldn’t take getting smashed so they make up stuff !! Was told there were 40+ that met with the coach when he was introduced to kids !

Initial Meeting with new coach is the single biggest joke known in every school hallway.   Kids do anything to get out of class….

I’m sure Coach Damron knows he’s on a difficult path.  Limited numbers in the building….very weak feeder program at MS (again, limited numbers).    

On a positive note….Paris will always produce some athletic skill kids.  Even with the transfers…..those kids will be around.  But…Depth and  overall size has been the never ending issue over the past 25-30 years.   That’s not going to change.

The difference in Fairview and Paris situation with McPeak is when Nate took over at Fairview, he had a freshman class that was pretty solid and a feeder system that had some really good players already. Kids like Littlejohn, Brewer, Turner, McKnight, Lowe and several lineman were coming through the system that made Fairview a program that was already on the upswing. McPeak was able to go get some missing pieces in the King boys, his nephew and several other lineman that made them one of the big dogs. With what Paris has had the last few decades, isn’t nearly as good as what Fairview had the year McPeak took over. Paris can build themselves up, but like Outlaw said, it’s going to take some time and getting kids to leave places like LCA, Sayre, and Alex Cath is going to be tough. There’s way more options in that area compared to the areas surrounding Fairview.

They bridged the gap on the scoreboard with Raceland from last year to this year. I honestly think they could have been pushing to win or at least seriously contend for district titles in the next couple years if they kept moving in the direction they were. I’ve said it before but the only thing they lacked was discipline and depth. They always have/had atheletes. This past year their line play was better. The pieces were there to keep building. From all classes 1-6A…there’s a reason that teams that are in it to win it every year have had the same coaches for a long time. Atleast 5+ years. It usually takes a coach coming in and seeing his first Frosh class through to establish their culture and work on building a feeder system. Most schools don’t give a coach enough time for that, or coaches get burned out before they can get to that point.

As for Damron and McPeak. They absolutely can coach.l, never said they couldn’t. They have ties to colleges and that aids in recruitment (kids getting recruited by colleges, not recruiting players to come to Paris). That in itself is a big selling point to a lot of families. And in response to “oh it gets better”…I hope it’s them changing that god awful Ren and Stimpy cartoon looking nightmare they have on their football field!

For 4 months I have kept my mouth SHUT. I’ve let rumors fly about this and that. Deleted people on this good ole blue app because I know how I get when I feel disrespected. I can’t go a single day without somebody asking me why I left Paris. I never cared to even speak on it. Until today. Until I received this nice little letter in the mail. Until yall wrote a nice little statement on one of MY KID’s paperwork that said “yall don’t feel like he should be eligible because of this and that”. But yall ain’t here to wipe the tears from his eyes as he reads the black and white. Yall wasn’t there pulling him out of the streets. Yall wasn’t there keeping a pistol or a pac outta his hand. Yall wasn’t there to bring him back to a life and sport that he loves with everything in him. But yall quick to write statements to make sure he can’t get back to doing what he loves.
How does the fastest growing district in the state start writing statements on kids transfer paperwork??? Like yall own those kids. You can’t even spell their last name but think they gotta stay at Paris High School. Y’all got people over their scaring kids who want to leave a broken system but can’t because you’re holding their future in your hands.
I’m tired of being nice. I’m 37 years old. I’ve been a lot of things but I’ve NEVER been checked. So you wanna know why I left Paris? Here’s why!!
I didn’t leave Paris for another job. I didn’t leave Paris when I kicked a kid off my team for bringing drugs in the school and in the field house. I left because the principal and superintendent made me put him back on the team. Whole team running around fried and I can’t kick a kid off my team who’s bringing it the damn field house??? Smoking big blunts in the field house. My mother helped clean up the field house and wash uniforms for a little extra money. She called me and said that the whole place smelled like weed and there were two kids sleep in the lounge. I go down, snap clean off and ask them how they got in. Little did I know, the principal was letting them come in there and sleep from 12-3 when they were supposed to be at co-op. No biggie.
I didn’t leave Paris for another job. I left because every time a DCBS was called, y’all were so quick to call my phone to take that child in. To clothe them and feed them. To raise them. AND DO NOTHING TO HELP WITH THEM.

In fact, he told me he was gonna get a bus to go up the road and pick them up. 2 weeks before school starts and 17 kids later, now they can’t afford a bus and all those parents are [redacted]. So who has to clean up the mess and make sure all those kids get to school??? Me! Not a dollar for gas. Not an oil change. Nothinggggg! Not even a Thank you. I’m still driving kids to Paris EVERY DAY and I don’t even work there. But I made a promise to them to get them to school and I stood on that. EVERY DAY.
I didn’t leave Paris for another job. I left because I sat down man to man a year ago and discussed a raise. And instead of getting a raise for myself and my coaches, I lost 14,500 dollars. Overnight, I lost the pre approval for a house that I worked so damned hard to get. How did they fix it??? They made up a bogus position in the school that had people questioning the validity of it from the jump. Especially a certain school board member.

I left because the superintendent wouldn’t check a certain board member who was FURIOUS that he couldn’t be on my staff. So furious that he was coming to practices and recording them. Same board member that was upset over this ORANGE football field. The same orange football field that the superintendent asked me to push and promote. To fight for. The same orange field that they had my bonus son, King, go talk about at an education foundation meeting. Then, the whole time the “community” is voting on the field, the superintendent is texting my phone hyped because the orange field is winning. Then stands in the newspaper and says he didn’t vote for an orange field. After that good ole orange field was passed, that same board member is on the superintendents ass so bad, the superintendent says he’s gonna look for another job.
I didn’t leave Paris for another job. I left because the turnover rate in teachers are second to none. Meanwhile, the best English teacher I’ve ever seen gets treated like crap. She stayed when others walked out. Took on projects that no one wanted like prom and senior trip and Homecoming. And what do they do??? Belittle her and talk about what a bad job it was. You lose teachers every day due to lack of resources and insufficient wages. Oh we can’t give y’all raises but somebody at the top CONTINUES to get one. A real leader doesn’t lead from the back. If my coaches can’t get a raise, I don’t get one either. Which is why I split my coaching stipend with my brothers. Fact check it.
