Well, that is not a valid reason since the Treasury Secretary was lying.  The US is still currently trading with Russia at a deficit and also had a trade deficit in 2024.  I'm not saying that there are no valid reasons, although no one can seem to come up with one.  It should make a reasonable person wonder why though.
