Ashland 81 Calloway County 64 (KHSAA Boys' Sweet 16®)
#1
Final a big win for the Tomcats. What a game by the Liberty commit Zander Carter he had 29 points on 12-18 from the floor 1-3 from 3 and 4-6 from the line. He also had 8 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals and 1 block.

The Tomcats will have a rematch with Bowling Green in the first game of Friday's quarterfinals. The Tomcats lost to Bowling Green by 6 at Woodford Co. in early February.

Carter is the best player in the state! He makes everyone else around him so much better. Stats I seen had him 30 points, 8 assist , 6 boards. Took over second half!

Ashland shot 63% for the game from the field and 68% for the 2nd half and they 12-13 in the 4th quarter 92% that is going to get you a lot of wins.

Good win for Ashland. Could tell that they have been there before and Calloway had not. Carter took the game over once it got close in the 3rd. The Butler kid from Calloway is a special talent as well. It was fun watching those 2 match up.

The Tomcats may make a run at this thing!

Does UK make a late play for Carter?

Congrats to the Tomcats! This is a very good win on a big stage. They were well prepared and executed down the stretch. Best of luck in the quarter-finals.

I doubt he will change his mind from Liberty University. He is a very religious young man and his friend Colin Porter is also there.

It is set up for a run. BC should be playing and representing 16th. Due to some dirty play and taking out BC best player 9 minutes into the game, we will never know. BC beat Calloway in the summer from what I was told. BG is not super strong. Nor is South Oldam, with St. X out of the picture. BC would have made it to the finals for the state championship and forecasting GC to be the winner on the other side. BC was winning majority of the game vs GC and end up losing to them by 2 or 3. APB doesn't put him out. BC would have had a shot at being a state champion this year.

With that Being said. I do think APB has the same chance as well. Those are all winnable games for them. Just think if APB does not put out the Best Player in the region out.

HOOPFAN, one very important question the people on BGR want to know. Is your beloved COUNTY and the best player in the region watching A-Town in person or on prepspin?

It's low class for an adult to get on here and accuse a student athlete of intentionally injuring another student athlete. Of course, I wouldn't expect anyting else from someone like you.

Ram Cat exactly what I thought. A crazy man who will record other people.... also accuses a child of intentionally injuring his son like that. We all watched the game and it was nothing more than an accident.
I have heard also he is considering transferring Spur next year. Might be the best thing for the 16th region everyone can heal from the toxic negativity HOOPFAN (JS) brings.

The were no dirty plays Jerry.  Boyd’s best player was still on the floor. You know this.  He is the kid you recruited from South Point.  All the sideline antics that you have tried over the last few years didn’t work.  Always someone else’s fault.  Always a reason that you didn’t get to go to Rupp!  All your players graduated.  CHECK MATE! ASHLAND OWNS YOU!
