Legendary Coach, Tom Greer named New Defensive Coordinator at Southwestern

Championship & Legendary Coach, Tom Greer named New Defensive Coordinator at southwestern Pulaski

Well...
#3
He always did prefer that blue over red!

If what I’m hearing about Southwestern’s new coaching change is true, then they have done a couple people really dirty. Doesn’t surprise me one bit that Tom Greer has weaseled his way back into this position. Him and Jason Foley seem perfect together, two absolute slime balls that do not care about anything unless it benefits them.

I feel bad about the young coach they let go who came from LCA just 1 year ago.

Let me correct the OP. "Legendary" is only a term applied to Tommy Greer by Tommy Greer. He is a legend only in his own selfish and deluded mind. Glad he's in Pulaski now. One of the world's most terrible human beings. I've known him for over 50 years. How long have you known him??? I think I speak with worlds of knowledge about this despicable creature. He is a diagnosed sociopath.

Yeah, but that has nothing to do with my view of Tom. No one that has known Tom for as long as I have likes him. Someone on here posted last year that there's probably not five people in Corbin that would have anything good to say about him. I don't think you could find anywhere close to five Corbinites now that would have a good word about Turkey Tom. He showed his true colors early on in life. How would you feel about a snake in the grass that quit on his football team and didn't even tell his administration ahead of time?  Dave Cox told me to my face that Tom left everyone of them unaware of his intentions.  Left the kids without without a coach until June 6.  Old Turkey Tom got the ass beatin' of his life the night he tried to screw my girlfriend (at the time) in a car at the back of the parking lot of the old A&P grocery on Master Street. They were about to get down and dirty to "The Stroke "by Billy Squire. Chased him  from the A&P  , through town,  and caught him at the Piggly Wiggly on South Kentucky and beat his ass. The only thing he was stroking that night was his own Loaf. No paradise by the dashboard light for Tommy at the A&P.

Tom came into this world causing people to hate. When Tom was born, the doctor slapped Tom's mother.

True .  Pretty apropos that she got caught at a grocery store trying to get ol' Tom Turkey to stuff her ballot box. She could out eat a man twice her size, and she wan't small herself. I hear she married her an architect, who kept her warm, safe, and dry(and well fed, I hope).

Defensive...

Played about six(6) really strong opponents while Corbin head coach. Lost all but one of them(Frederick Douglass).  As a defensive coordinator, he'll be adequate. As a human being, he'll be the only thing he can be---DREADFUL!!!

I hold no hard feelings about Tom Tom from our childhood days. The fact that I caught him paddling up Coochie Creek with that skanky girl of mine is long forgotten. Long forgotten. The fact is, to this day, Turkey Tom is a narcissist who lies with ease and with no fear of consequences.  Plus, he intentionally left the Corbin kids without a coach for as long as possible and made finding a replacement much harder than it had to be. But that's Tom...

I know a lot people don’t care a lot about Greer . But one thing for sure is he can Coach !!! Especially defense!!! That great get for Southwestern. He one best defensive minds across Bluegrass!!!

Are parents are okay with someone with a personality disorder ( malignamt narcissism with sociopathy), who happens to moonlight as a guy who is pretty good at coaching defense? If it's a microcosm of our entire sick society, I'd say yes, they'll be fine with Tom. I do know this. Our kids at Corbin are gloriously happy to be rid of ol's Tom Turkey. Salmons is like a breath of fresh air.

I honestly don’t know him personally like obviously you do. But I know he always had a great defense we’re ever he went. So all I’m saying as d cord he is one best in bluegrass. He won a lot games too. I think Corbin got better end of deal when he step down because Salmons going bring a title to Corbin in very near future. I don’t think Greer could have done that. But he is a good defensive guy.

Looking at scores I don’t think Herron done a bad job at all, especially with a lackluster offense around him. Word is he interviewed at Corbin yesterday. Would be a pretty funny scenario.

Herron>>>> Corbin
Greer>>>>> Southwestern

Ha ha definitely NOT sick ...more like pretty daggone impressive. Hard to dislike 70s/80s yacht rock. Now if you start talking about Boz Skaggs, Christopher Cross and/or the LRB (Little River Band) you may have a new friend!

In relation to the topic ... where did Greer win state championships? Looking it up I can't find anywhere that listed him as a head coach winning the big game. Is it as an assistant? If so ... isn't that a little disingenuous?

If not, I know quite a few dudes who have 10+ rings as assistants. Those guys wouldn't thinking of claiming those unless they specifically spelled it out that those were earned as assistants.

It was as an assistant at Bell County in 1991 and 2008.

Thank you.

With that said (this isn't directed to you, Walt) how in the world does being an assistant on 2 teams that won state championships 34 years ago and 17 years ago make a coach "Legendary"? I know he was DC for a couple teams that almost won (and the years where he was the HC and didn't win a championship with a couple of really good teams that almost beat a couple real good teams)

Do any of you guys feel like that is "legendary"?

When I hear that word .. I think about Haywood, Rash, Smith, Mueller, Hilton, Beatty, Yeagle and a bunch of others. No offense to Greer ... but why is anyone or anything labeling him as "legendary"?

Is that SW trying to put the spin on a somewhat controversial move?
#28
As I said, the only person on planet Earth who thinks of Tom Greer as legendary is Tom Greer. I've looked deep into the eyes of the sociopath. I know. Tom is a decent defensive football coach. He was a good, but not great, football player. Baseball was his best sport. He is not a horrible football coach. He is, however, a horrible person. The kids he coached at Corbin were glad to be rid of him. The current coach of the Hounds is not a toxic cauldron of sociopathy like Tom. Even administration is glad to be rid of the guy. One administrator told me that he would be happy to never have to look at Tom again.
#29
Tom is a legend in coaching like Les is a legend in sports writing.... in their own mind.
#30
Congratulations to Coach Greer and Soutwestern, I wish you’d got him hired 7-8 years ago, but at least Corbin’s rid of him
