Mark Pemberton named Madison Southern HC
#1
Official.

From what I've seen online, he has over 1400 wins in 40+ years as a head coach. One state championship under his belt in 2008. That's the pluses.
He left a school he coached at for a year in Campbell County, TN. Coached at 8 schools in that time. That's the question mark.

Great hire by Mad South Admin! Coach is coming off a big 2-8 season averaging 11.5 points per game. It's sure to get people excited! Believe 7 wins in the last 3 years combined.

LOL.....yeah....realized that after I had already typed.  They had that on a tv interview where he took over at the Campbell County school in Tennesee.  I was just parroting and not using common sense.  Forgive me....I was diagnosed with Flu yesterday!  Shy  Smile

Not real excited. The guy is old, and has moved jobs A LOT! Only 3 coaches in Madison Southern have ever won on a consistent basis. Mike Elkin, Doug Carter, and Jon Clark (who was not supported by his last principal) I am disappointed that the Madison Southern graduate Mark Scenters did not get the job (pretty sure he's been rejected 3 times).

I agree with FF.  Mark Scenters would likely have had staying power where Southern was his home school.  Mark's a pretty good coach and a heck of a guy.  We'll see what this guy does.

Scenters should have been a NO-BRAINER!

Did Scenters get passed up or did he pass on the position?

did MSHS get stuck with last man standing?

I believe the TN guy was the only one offered.

Sounds very political for what Im told. Pemberton was the 3rd choice according to someone on the hiring committee. This sounds like Madison Co politics and a principal doing his own thing.

Hopefully he has enough stock of Red Solo Cups.

They should just combine with Central. Still have a hard time competing.

Was told there were admin demands is why Scenters didn’t get the position…nonetheless I personally wish Scenters would have gotten the job, but let’s give the new coach a fresh slate and support him.
