Paintsville vs. Pike Central 3/7
#1
This should be an interesting matchup. These two teams never matched up during regular season. Somethings to consider. as of game time, it's been a minute since either one of these teams have played. Paintsville hasn't played since 3-1 and longer for PC. Another thing to consider is that the game is at PC. I think what will help Paintsville is the size they have. They basically have 3 bigs, Kinner, Cole, and Woods. And PC has 1. I think Paintsville will pull this out if they clear the glass and put pressure on Stewart. What are your thoughts?

Paintsville has the better all-around team and better coaching, but Jaden Steward can fill it up when he gets hot. Being at home should really help Pike Central as well.

I think this is a good match up. Neither team really tries to get up and down the whole game. So I feel like this one comes down to who runs their sets the best and gets quality shots. And defensively it is a little different for each team. Defensively for Paintsville will come down to can they control Stewart. For Pike Central it is a lot more collective because there isn't just one guy so everyone has to be locked in defensively and be able to finish possessions with a rebound. And both coaches are good so I expect we will see plenty of adjustments throughout the game on both sides. i think this is a close game and will be decided in the last 2 minutes of the game. Good luck to both teams.

Two teams actually played twice last season; Pike Central won both games.

Paintsville basically has the same team as last, but this year has been completely different compared to last year. Well coached, disciplined on both ends and they utilize their strengths as good as any team in the region. Pike Central has also had a great season, I've always said that no one player is more important to their team than Stewart, he has been a great joy to watch the last 4 years, he is so smooth, doesn't get in any sort of hurry, loves to do his damage down low and on the baselines as well. Cole is the same way for Paintsville, for his size, he is very elusive and shifty. It will be interesting to see who Paintsville puts on Stewart if they matchup, but I can see them going zone and trying to make PC shoot em out of it, but their zone tendencies have been pretty affective all season long.

Even tho this is a "neutral court" tournament, home court advantage will be a big play for Pike Central here, but I think Paintsville has too much size and will own the paint. I will take Paintsville in a hard fought, close battle.

Mid season I would say Paintsville. Right now I would have to go Pike Central

About to say the same thing. Nobody in the region has more big time game experience than Jaden Stewart and if anyone can carry a team to a big time win it’s him.

Honestly, very interested in how this plays out. I’m not sure what I think about this match-up.
