Pretty stiff, but I think it’s meant to send a message to everyone at BL that the new BOE administration isn’t gonna put up with that kind of stuff anymore. I’ve never seen an adult in an official capacity at a youth sporting event flip a kid off, actually never thought I would live long enough to see anything like that in Floyd county, so we’re kind of in unprecedented territory as to the length of the suspension, but a total ban from Floyd county youth sports and a suspension for the coach not being more under control post-game is a good move, I think. Actions have consequences.
But the Mother from Prestonburg who started the shouting match walks away wit no punishment?

How should she be punished? She's just a fan, not an official representative of PHS the way coaches and bookkeepers are, she didn't use any foul language or flip anybody off, so at worst she's just a heckler. Should all fans who heckle officials at sporting events be punished? You'd be handing out a whole lot of punishments if that's the case.

Actually, we had fans that were not allowed to be at the Paintsville game because they got kicked out of the BL game. They’re sending certified letters to fans that get removed. First I’d heard of that happening but it happened during the district tournament.
I've seen happen several times over the years, as late a last years regional,  Back in the 90's I actually know of one person that was actually taken to jail.

PLEASE!   Wasn’t a fan tonight of this new arrangement.    Girls crowd was good but not any more atmosphere than expo honestly.     Just didn’t feel like a regional or even district tourney type game.

concession food was nice and well priced though!

Yea it’s going to be worse.

Unfortunately think Martin doesn’t make the finals. They either lose to Phelps or Floyd central.

Pikeville
Paintsville
Martin
Floyd Central

Pikeville
Floyd Central

This might be the only bracket I’ve seen that doesn’t have Martin in the finals. Wild upset prediction

Come back to me after the semi-finals and finals for both boys and girls. First round games a lot of times do not have a huge draw. The parking at PCC was a breeze last night too.

Couple things I seen last night.

scores table isn’t big enough for a regional event.    Both team book keepers were not even at the table.   The extra official was seated in the bleachers because lack of room.

no room for the coaches to work on sideline without being on the floor.

camera crews way to close to the action and can’t get farther away because of lack of space on end lines.  Let’s home someone doesn’t crash into those areas.

how good is the view from the upper deck when crowd gets larger.    Everyone complained about EXPO views not sure they will be better at PCC

staff was very nice and orderly and I liked the concession stand prices and fried bologna was spot on!

Comfort wise this just comes no where near the expo and think it will only get worse.

In no universe is attending the regional tournament at PC better than attending the regional tournament at the Expo.

Yes, in most cases the regionals have out grown the HS gyms, even some of the districts.

Expo better than any gym in the region. Nothing aginst PCC they are gracious host but several issues with room as stated above. Also the home team for the second game can’t warm up properly due to the crowd exiting and it taking a few min of warm up time for the congestion to die down on that end of the court. Last night LC had a lot of people in their way coming in and exiting the gym. I think they need to compromise on pricing at the expo and get it back in there obviously this is an emergency situation this year and it had to be done but we can see the advantage the expo had already.

Its going to be a fantastic tournament. Besides Phelps and MC every game should be really close.

Martin Co is obviously the favorite but BL or FC will give them a game

I think Lawrence is the dark horse im getting behind. If they are hot they can score 100 on anyone.

Have no real concrete predictions other than I cant wait for Saturday

Are ticket prices the same as they would be at the arena?

Only in your dreams. LOL

During the Paintsville and Lawrence County game I counted the crowd (use crowd loosely) across the floor on the Lawrence County side. Not counting the scorers table and TV and radio crews there was 142 people in the bleachers. Crowd only looked normal due to it being a high school gym. In Appalachian Wireless they would have looked really small.

I've never had an issue with the AWA hosting the regional tournament. Hear outsiders say Pikeville or even Pike County teams have an advantage. Don't think Pikeville has access to it. Pikeville just happens to be the biggest city in the 15th region and has the best venue. Just like Corbin in the 13th. When is the last time Corbin won the 13th region? Plus Pikeville has the logistics such as restaurants to eat before and after the games. The regional tournament boys championship last year atmosphere was great between Magoffin and Martin. Let's see how people like it when they have to sit on the baseline in the upper section when you can barely see. There is pros and cons to both. Just think the App Arena is the best venue. Just like in baseball Stonecrest is the best option.

Agreed. All A back in school. Region stays in the Expo
