Wonder if he will bring in his own staff? Sounds like a lot of the issues with the last few seasons has been the assistants from what has been posted on here. But like someone mentioned, Nick Saban could be the coach and if you don't have buy in from everyone then it won't work

Won their division... or got last in the County? 5-6 grade County championship was Betsy layne vs Prestonsburg, and Pburg won. FC youth needs to be cleaned up, like Yetty said.

Seems like the man wants to be here and raise his family. I commend that and wish him the best of luck. I know he had other options.

I seen first hand how they coach the middle school and it was awful. Most kids where sitting there picking grass during practice because the coaches didn’t want either teach them or didn’t know how to. During games its ok because you earn mins but when he did play them they look lost because they don’t know any better.

Congrats to him, he was the best option available to them and a good hire. I think Hoskins is a good football coach, but I think he’s gonna struggle at FC because of the culture he’s inheriting. If he can’t put together a staff that supports him and genuinely wants to drag FC out of the political mud that they’re stuck in then he’s doomed. I think Hager suffered from that exact thing. I think he had too many guys on his staff that wanted his job, and they seemed to undermine him sometimes which always leads to disaster. If Hoskins can get the school to bring some outsiders in to teach and coach then he’s got a chance, but if it’s left up to the good ol boy left beaver political network for his assistants then he’s in trouble.

I know they won, but I saw the game and like I said mins are earn. This team couldn’t compete with Betsy Layne or prestonsburg. They have some wonderful players on the team and some great guys coaching but like chess you have to know how to use all your pieces to win. With Hoskins coming in he may want all the teams to know his style of play from middle through high school so there no confusion once they do play for him.

Their 7th/8th grade team didn’t have a lot of talent and it showed on the field! They have the athletes walking the halls to have a competitive team, but all they seem to care about is basketball and baseball! Their 5th/6th grade team has a lot more upside, and their coaches seem to do a pretty good job, but they aren’t on the same level as Prestonsburg or Betsy Layne at this grade level. If Hoskins can get some of these kids out on the gridiron, things could get interesting, but I’m not holding my breath!

7/8 had talent the problem was mainly the head coach Triplett. He didn’t either know or want to teach them. He coached both teams and at this age it is more about development than winning. When you have someone who can’t bother to even have all the kids involved at practice  then they need to be replaced with someone who can.

Got their guy! If people give him time he will make them as competitive as they can be.
