Who do you think should represent the 14th region in the Mr. Basketball voting? Highly doubt that it matters but just wondering on your alls opinons.

I'm thinking since every region has a player selected it would be Eversole from Hazard.

Eversole very close second, woods 3rd.

Could eversole play at Alice Lloyd lol a lot of Sperry haters on here

I would say Sperry, here is why. This voting should be consisted over-all years of playing varsity basketball. What are Eversole's accolades the past 4 years, what are Sperry's? If it was just based on one year I would go with Eversole this year, Sperry has played in back-to-back region finals, beating Hazard and Eversole to get there both years.

Putting Eversole as player of the year does not make you a Sperry hater. Either of these players has played well enough to win the award.
Their outputs are similar but Eversole does it for the better team and has three wins over Sperry this year.
If I had a vote: Eversole
Who I think wins: Sperry

Winston Lee?
Al Hollan?

Eversole and I don’t think it’s close.

If I had a vote , I’d choose Sperry. In my opinion , he has had the better career , is the better basketball player , and has remained loyal to his home school.

Id say Winston will take Coach of the Year and deservedly so.

If we’re being completely honest , a school like Alice Loyd would be a good fit for Sperry. I know the Breathitt faithful being fed by his momma and the 14th region media have convinced themselves he’s a D1 talent , but it doesn’t seem like many scouts are buying it. Could it be because they see what we see ? A selfish player , an inefficient shooter , a liability on defense against 14th region competition ? Do they like his attitude ? Does he get it done in the classroom ? How many college coaches will let him take 25-30 shots per game ? How many will tolerate him not playing defense ?
What exactly are Eversole’s basketball skills ? He’s not a great shooter , he’s not a strong ball handler , he doesn’t have any real moves , no speed. He’s 6’5 and can’t dunk ? Maybe he’s just the biggest , strongest kid in the region playing on the best team.
Why can’t people just enjoy high school basketball without trying to turn every decently talented kid into a D1 or NBA prospect ?

Eversole is really good player but I have to give the nod to Sperry. Sperry is Freak Athlete for this area and he is capable of playing D1basketball somewhere. Morehead would be good fit for him.

Talent is unmatched with Austin
Put him on any team in region they automatically are a contender
He is electric

I may be mistaken, but I think it is a career award, which is why it can only be given out to a senior. Which would give Sperry the nod.

Have you watched him play ? He’s taken far more bad shots than he has assists to his name.
Both are good players. But…don’t throw out false stats, some folks might believe them.
Austin averages 19 shots per game making 52% of them and averaging 21.4 per game. And has 8 D1 offers, the latest one last week from Stetson University. So he must have impressed some “scouts”.
Evan averages 17 shots per game and makes 51.5% of them and averages 18.9 per game.
Might come down to who makes his team better? I really don’t know if there’s any criteria.

Alice Lloyd is a D-1 school....of the National Christian College Athletic Association in the Mideast Region. They are also leaving the NAIA after this season to focus solely on the NCCAA level.
