:1: LAWRENCE COUNTY KEPT UP WITH MAGOFFIN IN REGULAR SEASON PLAY...LIKE IT OR NOT LAWRENCE HAS A VERY GOOD CHANCE IN CONTENDING FOR THE TITLE THIS YEAR!

they may have kept up with Magoffin, but they ran out of steam by the end of the game. If you're a runner you always make sure you don't put it into overdrive unless you know you have enough to get you through to the end. Law. Co needs to make sure they can keep up with their opponents all the way until the end.

If the new coach can get his system across fairly qwickly to the grils and they can pick it up fast enough Lawrence will be right in the mix of the district they had the talent last year but I think the new coach will make the difference I think they only lost maybe one starter from last year . And I'm sure they will have some girls come out to play now that the old coach is gone some very good talented girls . But we will just have to wait and see.

Where did the new coach do his coaching last year?
08-28-2006, 01:47 PM
He's been out of coach for the last couple of years. I think his last job was an assistant with the boys program with Coach A in his first year at the Helm of the boys program. You will see a big change in the girls program they will be in every game this year and could compete for the district title with all but one starter back and probably several girls who havent played because of the past coach who will be a big impact foir this years team.

Coach Holbrook is a great coach. This team will be contending for the district title and possibly the regional title. He, unlike the last coach, believes in CONDITIONING!! There will be no running out of steam for this team. He believes in hard work and has the determination to push this team to its full potential. He is also just a great man who will make these girls not only good basketball players but good people. He along with boys coach Randy Anderson will round Lawrence County into a BASKETBALL school. With the shape of the football team it looks like that's what they need to focus on....

He really is a great coach. I have heard nothing but good things about him so far. I am very pleased with the way he working the girls. I am very excited about this year! :Cheerlead

Come on people. This team is not even close to winning a district title let alone a regional. They may have kept up with Magoffin for a while but they still lost! And how do you explain the thumping JC put on them. Once by almost 70 points, and two other times by over 20. The Lady Dogs have a long way to go. However, this change is a sign of positive times to come. Good luck to the girls this season.

We will wait and see eaglehoops...i think a lot of people will be suprised.

It's the same group of girls as last year apparently...unless some new motivation is built into them I don't expect many surprises...

And yes I think he will have the same girls as did coach evans had last year all but maybe 2 and I think you will see what a differance a coach can make I have a lot of good feeling about this new Coach lets hope he can get it done LC has had alot of talent go threw under coach evans with nothing to show for it Coach Holbrook will also have some pretty nice talent comeing his way so time will tell. Good luck lady dawgs in 06.:Cheerlead

First of all, Dawg Family, if you want to wish the Lady Dawgs good luck this year, then you need to be aware that it is the 07 year they will be playing.
Second, it is embarrassing that someone from Lawrence County has such atrocious writing and spelling. Surely you did not graduate from LCHS.
Finally, hopefully you will get your facts straight about this team and be supportive of the future and the past Lady Dawgs.

The fact that the coach goes to see the younger girls play is good, but Evans did the same thing. She traveled to the different middle schools and got to know the girls as well. So besides conditioning the girls more, I haven't heard anything new that has been done. Time will only tell.

And you all are right coach Evans did do her best and her record speaks for it self I really havent heard why they replaced her .And as for supporting the lady dawgs will I try my best and I went to all most every game the past 6 years and I have seen some really good ball players at LC why they didn't win more well we will just have to let that one play out won't we.:lmao:

To start with there was no sense of order from Evans teams, The girls just did what they wanted to.
She would bring girls up from the the middle school girls and play them over girls that were in High School, that made alot of kids and parents mad. It wasn't the fact that she played them over the girls in high school it was the fact that when these girls would reach High School she would do the same thing to them and bring girls up from the middle school and play them. I have nothing against Evans she is a great person, she just wasn't getting it done and changes needed to be made before we lost all the girls who were playing. We have had way to much talent for us not to be better than we were in the district, and not just talking about last year its been that way for the last 3 or 4 years.
I hope that she is doing OK and finds another coaching job because she is a good coach it was just time for a change in the LC system.
I wish the best for the Lady Dawgs and cant wait to watch these girls play.

A little harsh there shaggy! Now what's really embarrassing is someone that acts so stupid over the little things you made a big deal over.
Secondly, the lady dawgs are going to be playing in '06. It is the 06-07 season. Their first game is December 2, --->2006<---.
I think someone else needs to get the facts straight.

No problem, always glad to help out a fellow dawg! Some people, not mentioning any names **cough cough shaggy** don't know when to quit whining over something and let it go. This is the best thing to happen for the girls since I don't know when! Can't wait til December 2nd!

It seems coach Holbrook is getting his team in tip top shape and they WILL be a force to recon with this 06-07 season. I think he knows he's got talent with this team and I am excited to see him put all the talent to work for him and not just half the team as was done in the past. Can't wait to actually see them in action.....GO LADY DAWGS
